The chronology is freely handled. The burning of Aleksin took place before Sofia even arrived in Moscow. And the scale is not enough as promised. Events are galloping along, the Tatar horde is depicted by a handful of horsemen, and the ruined city is a pair of huts with a flimsy fence.
But the interior decorations and costumes are not bad, and the actors are well chosen.
