Serebryakov, feeding the ducks, amused me. And in the restaurant scene, when communicating with my son, he's also good at being annoyed. But it's especially interesting to hear how Russian actors speak English. I hope that foreign viewers don't curl their ears from their speeches, as we do when Americans try to spout in Russian in Western TV series :)

And so crime and crime, in the standard "good" for British minicabs on similar subjects.

Subtitles are especially fun.

"What else should I do in this stupid park?"

In general, the subtitles were lame throughout the series. They do not convey all the beauty and richness of the Russian language!

Norton doesn't look like the son of Shukshina and Serebryakov at all. Who does he have such a nose and such a chin for? The gardener or the neighbor?

And Uncle Boris was killed for nothing. I liked him the most. So much so that even his crooked Russian was willing to put up with it.

Russian Russian and British actors working together, where Russians speak pure Russian (well, almost all of them), left an ambivalent impression from the pilot: on the one hand, it's incredibly cool to see GOOD Russian and GOOD British actors working together. Beautiful picture, beautiful James Norton, colorful Serebryakov and Shukshina...but on the other hand, it smells like cranberries. Oh, this Uncle Boris (and why are all Russians called Boris only in foreign films??).
I agree that if it hadn't been for the moment of the murder, the pilot would have been a perfect three.

Kazakh actors talked about filming in the TV series McMafia in London

Kazakh actors Yerden Telemisov, Murat Mukashev and Nurken Tumatayev starred in the Anglo-American television series McMafia.
According to Telemisov, no one organized the auditions in Kazakhstan. The actors got into this project after Yerden Telemisov received a message from violinist Marat Bisengaliev, whose daughter, Arukhan Galieva, was looking for actors of Asian appearance to shoot in the series.
"The casting director of the new project asked Aruhan for help to find three characters. They needed brutal men. Marat gave me the contacts, and I contacted them. They asked me to act as an agent and asked me to find two men. Initially, they were looking for Uzbeks. I turned to my friends. And he sent my and Murat's video tests. Then they came to my Youtube channel, started watching videos, and saw Nurken. They liked him, and we sent him a video test too, and he passed," Telemisov said.
"When Yerden told me that we were going to London to shoot, I didn't believe him. I didn't believe it until I found myself at the British Embassy. When they started filling out all the documents, I thought, "Am I really going?" - Nurken Tumatayev shared.

The actors said that the Kazakhstanis stayed in London for 26 days, they had one shooting day a week. It took them a total of five days to shoot.
"On the first day, we looked brutal: with a beard, we made evil faces. The director looked at us strangely. Then the makeup artist was invited, and she shaved off our beards. The director then explained: yes, you are the assassins, the killers in the series, but it shouldn't be visible from the very beginning. You have to look like businessmen," he said.
The actor also talked about his role in the TV series.

"Our role in the series is very significant, the director talked about it. Our appearance in the series is the starting point of changing the main character. After our appearance, the main character will not be the same. We may not have been in the frame for so long, but try to get into this frame as extras. Two of us made do with one episode. And someone, I won't say who, appears in the third episode," Telemisov said.

McMafia is an Anglo-American television series co-produced by the BBC and AMC television companies. Russian actors Maria Shukshina and Alexey Serebryakov also starred in the series. On January 1, 2018, the eighth episode began airing. Kazakh actors played representatives of the Kazakh mafia.

it, I'll try, there are movies / TV shows that you forget that you're looking at the monitor screen and just watching the story that fascinates you

It's a good, smart, multifaceted story. There is also a family in which adult children sometimes feel embarrassed for their parents, but sincerely love them, take care and protect them, and parents love and protect children, although they sometimes behave like teenagers, other relatives whom you do not choose, but whose actions can change your life. There is also a conflict of cultures with an arrogant and hypocritical rejection of the realities of the world around them, when decency is righteous /phew, as if all their current material well-being has been inflated by the holy Spirit)) yeah. / and fearfully distances himself from anything that might be considered inappropriate. There is transparency of the boundaries between legal and criminal business, and a reassessment of the priority of socially accepted norms in the event of a threat to the lives of loved ones.
It was staged and shot well, the locations were well chosen, the characters and events were fairly reliable, and the invited Russian performers added realism. However, minor ethno-religious inconsistencies are noticeable, some circumstances and dates do not add up, the FSB officers look frankly vampiric (however, perhaps the CIA officers in "Born" or "MI6SHNIKI" in "Bond" are shown to be the same vampiric). Overall, there were significantly fewer cranberries on the Russian theme than usual, although it was necessary, which is a bit annoying, since the series, despite some stereotyping, clearly claims authenticity.
It turned out to be confidently above average, perhaps a little delayed at times. It is quite possible to look at it, at least as an illustration of English stereotypes, phobias and ideas about foreigners and foreign life.

Russian russians talked about cranberries and non-cranberries, about a British man who looked nothing like a Russian, about a bad and a good story, about Serebryakov as a typical Russian drunk, about Boris, who was not very Russian, and even about Shukshina...
and not a single comment about Merab Ninidze! The only one of the "Russian" actors here who plays at the level of cool British/American actors. Even the British "Lyosha", in my opinion, is not up to it. I'm sorry, if you watch this series, it's just for him.
By the way, despite some rather stereotypical moments like black caviar, which constantly appears at all events, and a crooked Russian accent, I think this is a great progress. Russian Russians are played by Russians who speak pure Russian (except Boris, but let's let him go, he's like half a Jew), the inscriptions make sense, and not just made of a set of letters, kalinka-malinka or a wild thieves' chanson is not playing on the background, matryoshka dolls are not on every corner... For that alone, it's worth saying thank you to the creators of the series.
The plot is still a bit boring, but I really hope that the series will accelerate further.
