And you watch it on the screen - and you can't help but wonder from which closet that fur coat and those leggings were taken out, from which British court these bleached wigs were pulled off, how thick a layer of great-grandmother's powder actors were painted, what kind of history textbook decorators were beaten on the head, that they stuffed an overabundance of luxury everywhere. In the theater, it would all look much more appropriate than on the screen, especially with such a weak plot and the general weakness of the dramatic part. It's no joke, some of the main events are not shown here, but are described by the credits, and the empress herself is shown quite strangely.

...В итоге просто провела 4 часа наблюдая за красивым, но непонятным балаганом у себя на экране, пытающимся выдать себя что-то стоящее....
А вообще надо просто рассматривать сюжет отдельно от правления и дворцов, сосредоточившись просто на любовной истории двух людей. В этом ключе - неплохо, но в целом всё равно такое себе, конечно.

Екатерина много всего сделала правильного, но много всего неправильного, как и большинство правителей. Но то, что она была "шлюхой", по современным реалиям - это факт. Даже в этом сериале, который точно не отличается исторической достоверность, ведь он художественный, не были упомянуты многочисленные любовники Екатерины ||, она была намного распущеней, чем Европейские короли в то время, хотя они были ого-го... Насчёт сына, она вообще поступила сильно опрометчиво.. Зачем его лишать любви, ведь его бабушка и так не давала им видится. Она решила также поступить и со своим внуком.. Хотя её сын, при своём правлении, сделал очень много положительных действий, в особенности то, что он сильно упразднил выдачу наград, привилегий знати и отменил различные налоги для простых крестьян. Чего она не могла сотворить.. А только потакала знати. Но прискорбно то, что Павла убили также, как и его отца. Для меня он был намного более значимым персонажем в истории, чем его описывают. Также в истории упоминается, что Павел, также, как и его мать, собирался покончить с рабством!
