"They just weren't doing their job." That's what made me so mad when I was reading the book. The police didn't care, not really. They didn't take this (and Elizabeth) seriously. I saw people judging Elizabeth for staying with him (at some point I, too, thought that she could've stopped, judging by how happy they seemed together). Still, it was the police's fault. I saw the Bundy tapes where the police officers were interviewed & I was so frustrated with them. They truly didn't care.
