What unimpressive people!) The captain's run to slomo is something!!!How sick everyone was! I hoped she wouldn't make it, I really wanted Alison to finally work)
I watched the British and American versions in parallel. And the first one stands out against the background of the second not with the vaunted British humor, but with the unbreakable disgust and pettiness of all the characters. Ghosts don't listen to Alison and each other, whereas they could work as a team and use all the opportunities that this otherworldly union gives. On the one hand, this is a plus for the concept: the characters of the sitcom do not develop, so you can write endless scripts about how ghosts spoil the lives of the owners of the house. But on the other hand, we don't get attached to these characters at all. They were one-sided cardboard boxes (Robin likes to play chess, Julian likes to play with bets, etc.), and they remain so, whereas in the American version all the characters go through a kind of arch and become the best versions of themselves, having learned to work in a team and support each other. It is also worth noting Alison and Mike (Sam and Jay in the CBS version). In the British version, Mike practically does not participate in the plot in any way and does not seem interested in the idea, whether it's opening a hotel, talking to ghosts, etc. Half of the jokes associated with him boil down to "My wife is talking to someone. Again." Jay is really supportive of Sam and is interested in everything that happens between the ghosts. He manages to make friends with everyone as much as he can, or at least earn their favor. This is a small difference, but it radically changes the perception of the series, making the story more soulful.
I don't know, of course, maybe the original from BBC One will gradually come to this, but at the beginning of the second season it is unbearably hard to watch it.
It amuses me that Allison-judging by her work uniform- as a kindergarten teacher applies her work skills to ghosts. x))) I am also extremely amused by the fact that the caveman (Robin?) sometimes the smartest or most progressive of all. x)
Cool episode )
The first episode of the season, and holds the bar of the previous one :D

It's such a pity that their brilliant "radio broadcast" was not recorded)
