Was the window of the car where the detective was sitting closed? If so, then when the gun was fired, there would be a hole, then it cannot be considered suicide.
But if she saw a gun pointed at her, she wouldn't open it.
The only option is that she opened it while she was turning, but it happened too fast. If it opened so quickly, then she could have closed it so quickly.
