@ko_vi_kol: Have you watched it in French? The trailer on Netflix was in English, and I have the series only in French + subtitles. Does Netflix indicate anywhere when the English version will be available?
@Catherine24: maybe it differs by country, I have German Netflix, at first only French voice acting was available, and by the evening German and English were added.
awesome start!!! especially the second half, where the original plan is revealed:) there are very high hopes for this series, I hope it will only get better with each new series
From the very first minute, I had a question about the skill of reincarnation. It's good that Dwayne the Rock Johnson was not put on the main role, in order to show special invisibility, the ability to disappear into the crowd :) Nevertheless, the idea with the book is interesting, we'll see if he can come up with new things or repeat the old ones...
I have not read books on this character, but it feels like some ideas were clearly taken from books a century ago, because even when trying to modernize them, they now look too naive in places.
But in general, you can watch, Omar Xi's charisma is in place and shot decently.
PS The trailer may give the impression that this is a miniseries with a complete story, but there will be at least 2 seasons and at the end of the first season you will find a cliffhanger.
@vs40: I respect Omar Xi as an actor, but when I saw that there would be a series about Arsene Lupin, I was a little shocked (considering that I read about him as a child, somehow my image did not fit). And only today I saw that he was not talking about Arsen himself, but about a person inspired by him - then there are no problems at all
@Xenobait: I haven't read books, and I haven't watched anime, but of course I've heard about this interesting character. So according to the descriptions of the series, I wondered what Arsene Lupin had to do with it. But the first episode really put everything in its place.
Damn, Netflix fucked everyone up again and it turned out to be another good series. I advise you! It's also my first French TV series. I really liked everything. I'm going to watch the second episode now. The 46 minutes that the series lasted flew by very quickly
Great first episode! I have always liked such films \ TV series about robberies, and with Omar Xi in the title role, who, as always, plays smartly, it is a pleasure to watch. I hope that the rest of the series will be no worse.
Coming out of the Louvre with a necklace in your hand is fabulously incredible.
And in general, suddenly it's even good. Very much in the spirit of White Collar, Hustle and Leverage (by the way, the latter, if you didn't know, is returning with a sixth season, according to wiki)
@Angry_Dollar: As I understand it, with the main one, but he will be played by Noah Wyle. For those who grew up in Santa Barbara, replacing the main cast members is a common thing.
It was only because of Omar that I decided to watch. It's an ambitious start, but it's already clear that he'll have cops on his tail in the next episodes.
Omar Si is very good, the wonderful atmosphere of Paris is present, an interestingly furnished robbery and, of course, there is a policeman who will impose on the main character. Everything is at a good level. Let's have a look, as they say.
A lifestyle? So far, we don't know much about the hero, only about his love of reincarnation. And working as a cleaner and associating with some criminal elements is most likely part of his big plan to annoy the family, because of which his father was imprisoned for theft.
@k1ryusha: to understand that gg leads a criminal lifestyle, in my opinion, this series is quite enough, or do you think that he worked in the office before that, and then suddenly robbed the Louvre?
A very good start. It's understood, of course, that now that cop will be on his tail. And this woman did not appear in vain. I hope they're the only ones who won't be given a love line. And then either his wife or daughter stole the necklace. Although, the head of the family himself could have initiated all this in order to receive money (it was said that everything was bad with his business).
@ЮлияТабака: I thought it was obvious. He immediately found the culprit and successfully removed him in prison, and he got insurance and saved the original on the black market. It didn't matter to him that it was all at the cost of someone else's life. And my wife understood, but she didn't put it in her pocket.)
Oh, I was really looking forward to the release of the series, and somehow the first episode was much more disappointing. :( the caricature of his accomplices at least ( I hope it gets better. ☺️
@jerry_springle: I'm also thinking of watching, from what's coming out now, probably the best thing on Netflix , because the acclaimed Bridgertons didn't catch the trailer at all, Lupin godnota?
I've never understood why if you don't like the show, you have to humiliate everyone. Well, if you don't like it and don't look, pass it by... Oh yes, I forgot, it's the Internet.
"I would go to girls about 13 years old, fans of Huckleberry Finn and other retards," am I right, girls 13 years old and fans of Mark Twain are retarded for you? turn off the Internet, please. The world will become cleaner
It's too simple and naive. In the first episode, they dumped out everything that could be savored for the whole season and gradually revealed. Well, let's see what happens next...
I join the commentator above, this is also my first French TV series. The atmosphere, the tones of Paris, and the narrative style of the pilot completely captivated my attention, as did the beautifully shown story of the protagonist's family. It's nice to look at Omar Xi in this image)
@Smool: not knowing the original, I still want to believe that they tried and made a good translation =) but it was the voice acting that was still unemotional, which at first made it difficult to get into it.
The inconspicuous Omar Si ) Probably, for the French, such an appearance has already become commonplace. The moment is not clear with my wife - not to notice that my husband has money and suits? I hope that this question will be answered further. I really missed the adventurous series.
The first episode was interesting. I'm watching on Netflix with English voiceover, but I felt the French atmosphere.
Gg likes me, and the actor does a great job in his role (judging by the first episode). They told us everything very quickly. They robbed, thought out a plan, and it's all in one episode. As I understand it, in the end it is this policeman who will be chasing our Gg.
Awesome series! I didn't expect anything from the series at all. It even seemed a little boring at first, but by the middle the series was rocking! Bravo! Wow!
Omar Si definitely can't be called inconspicuous, even if he's a janitor or not. He's too good. Very interesting, the episode flew by. I'll go see everything for the day))
@PineappleDrew: They were splashing around here, and I was even surprised if they were so stupid that they didn't use cotton wool, or if there was some kind of trick.
I read the first couple of books about Lupin, and then I watched the pilot. And I totally approve, even though the series took a different path. But the character of the series has the right to be one - Arsene Lupin. It's a great move by the creators, and it's even realistic. Not in terms of methods, but the approach itself. It's very romantic, and Omar Si's Kharkov is gorgeous.
It's a good start, but like in the Paper House, the first episode showed too many things, which is why I'm afraid that the next episodes will be running after the main character. I hope I'm wrong!
It's a good start, but so far it's simple (the robbery is so simple and dashing that they can't quite believe it yet) But I think the plot will gain momentum)
I love classic detective stories, and the reference to such certainly pleases. But I was surprised that the access control system at our factory is stricter. a guard stands and checks the identity of each person who has passed with the image on the monitor. there is little chance of passing through someone else's pass. But in the most famous museum in the world, and on the day of the auction - no problem!
Oh, the atmosphere was a bit like a Paper House. It turned out smartly, cool and not boring at all! But after such initial climaxes, you don't always understand what's going to happen next. 😅
The plot of the first episode is very good. The French know how to make good movies. But the main character is not Arsene Lupin, even though he considers himself to be one. He's just copying a book character. Even the robbery is copied from the book. And with the name, how did he slip up that the policeman immediately found out about Lupin. He set himself up. Arsene Lupin was a master of disguise. Devilishly cunning and clever. Who will the huge, dark-skinned bully Omar Si transform into? But nevertheless, the series is not bad and I liked the first episode.
A very good pilot. I've been putting off this series for a long time, but in vain. And Omar Si, with his charisma and acting, distracts from a perfectly reasonable remark: is this textured gentleman going to periodically hide and blend in with the crowd?))
It was beautifully shot, the actors played well. but the plot and its presentation are a silent horror. Solid flares for this genre. For some reason, the scriptwriters decided to shoot a few scenes just so that we would doubt whether Omar is really a thief. Well, logic, as always in modern plots, let me down.
I can't figure out why the chloe forms are spluttering. Like morons, or is there something we don't know? =D And shouldn't I take cotton wool or some kind of cloth with me to put chloroform in there? no, it looks like they really are so stupid, that's why our hero came out on them =D "I loved reading when I was your age" "There were no phones in those years" =D I don't think it's my father's fault, because I don't think he would have committed suicide. However, I wonder how long it will be possible to hide and reincarnate in our age of technology. P.S. Omar Si is as good as ever
I liked the series from the very first shots, as soon as I saw Omar Si - he's a great actor, and her acting is amazing. I feel like 10 episodes will fly by like one
I've been meaning to watch this series for a long time, but then there was a reason, I had to re-study French)) And the first episode turned out to be good, what a feed! I agree with the commentators above, Omar Xi is very charismatic
It seems to me alone that after such a detailed plan to enter the famous Louvre, there must have been repeated attempts by many thieves to enter there.🤣 Even I wanted to go there and find out how serious everything is)))
For some reason, the first episode evoked an association with the first episode of Castle: There is also a writer and a crime copying a book, as well as a police officer who is a fan of this writer. It's not that it's a "copy", it's just that Vibe caught it.;
But of course this is a robbery... the guards don't have guns, there are 2 cripples watching the necklace, even if the cameras are turned off, there are still questionably few guards;
If you find fault with it, then of course it is clear that there are too many mistakes, starting with theft, where it is easy to track the moment of substitution (40 years ago, yes, such theft may have taken place, but not with current technologies and level of protection), ending with how the auctioneer looks at prospective buyers from some Wikipedia. In reality, yes, there would not be a couple of weak guards at an auction where they present a lot of 20+ lakhs, but this is a movie. Moreover, the series does not pretend to the reality of the events, not even a hint of them, but, on the contrary, filmed in homage to the book, the fictional hero. So, discarding all his bias, logic and the indignation of his grandfather, "lies! I don't believe it," I'm ready to continue watching and accept this picture as an unfounded, albeit naive story where a simple guy can bend the system and give justice to the offenders...
I started watching it at the age of 21 and abandoned it, continued at 23 and abandoned it again, and after the recent news about the Louvre robbery, I realized it was time to watch it in full :)
So far, gg is burning too much, but on the other hand, it really looks fresher and better than the eternally brilliant super-clever characters that every first one had in the 2010s.
I watched the whole season. The pilot seemed interesting, but then everything was blown away. My verdict: watch only if you're really hungry.
The ideas are really good — there are interesting clues and an attempt to spin a clever scheme. But the implementation is so weak that it becomes physically difficult to watch. The events take place in some kind of parallel reality, where the laws of logic and common sense simply do not work. Absolutely all the surrounding characters behave as stupidly and unnaturally as possible, as if the scriptwriters had forgotten that people can think. Don't even expect some kind of elegant intrigue in the spirit of Ocean's 11 Friends or an intense intellectual game like in Prestige. Instead, you get a lot of frustration from ridiculous decisions and holes in the plot. It's a pity for the time spent — there was potential, but the result was a failure.

Anyway my wife is mixed up
I think there's more than just napkins in the trash.😂

Omar Si is very charming as usual))

Paris, Omar Si, and so many more (I believe in it!) It will have to be revealed! 47 minutes flew by like a blink!
It's nice to look at Omar Xi in this image)

So far, everything is not bad here, if you don't think too much about how Asan magically turns things around))

The beginning dragged me to bed to look further 🥳

I feel sorry for Father Lupin 🥲
