I suppose I was kind of looking askance, but I can't figure out what kind of mission they had, that it was necessary to eliminate two witnesses just for seeing them all together?

@Cyberwatcher: They were transporting drugs. And there was no need - as Ray said, that shaggy guy just freaked out, the situation could have been solved without casualties (except for the poor kangaroo).

Very sad, but quite expected. Ray makes a living from murder, extortion, and drug trafficking. This is not a profession in which you sweetly flirt with colleagues, have affairs and so on. This is the kind of profession in which, as soon as you become uncomfortable, you are killed like a dog and fed to pigs (I think that's what shaggy did to poor Zoya - a proven method). I think Ray needed this push to realize this and finally leave his career as a magician behind.

By the way, I was surprised that with his many years of experience, he even allowed himself feelings for a colleague. If he had remained professional, they would not have cooed like lovebirds, Zoya would have been focused on the road and three deaths could have been avoided. I think this is another indicator that Ray is just tired of all this shit and wants a normal life.
