I can't judge only by myself, but I watch quite a lot and read a lot (especially in the genres of "thriller" and "detective", but at the same time these two ladies turned out to be completely unknown to me, I understood this joke only because of the context, and I had to Google the names. There is a feeling that the comparison with Sherlock and Watson, which are much more popular in popular culture, covers a much larger number of viewers (at least in Russia for sure), who, if they haven't even watched or read, just know what the joke is, so this decision by the voiceover studio seems to me quite justified.

@Izer: на момент написания коммента я не знала, что продлили на второй сезон + сейчас в целом такая мода, что последующие сезоны делают про других героев/новые линии и т.д., а не растягивают основной сюжет. если все будет гармонично, только рада)
