s01e15 — Smells Like Trouble

Not one, but two great stories in one episode. Amazing

The series, as usual, is wonderful.

- I never understood what she was thinking. And I believe that adventurers do not need either trust or the ability to read minds. I know that! Because my companion, Freeran, is a living example of that. Therefore, I decided for myself that I would always believe her words. She swore that she would definitely defeat the Demon Lord. And I didn't doubt it for a moment.

I really like the way Zayn and Freeran's relationship is building. Despite the fact that he did not deal a fatal blow to the monster, Zayn really showed himself vividly, it was interesting to listen to his monologue in the heat of battle. His stunned face when she destroyed the chaos flower in a couple of seconds, when he didn't even finish, is priceless. She said she did. Freeran sleeps so much because she saves the energy she spends on killing monsters (literally woke up and chose violence). Epic shots, of course, do not spoil her cute "uh-huh, got it" at all, but only enhances the effect. The scene after, when she praised Zayn (who did get a little attention from the older lady), is warming. I love this elf.

In this series, awesome smooth character animation constantly appears out of nowhere for the most mundane things, whether it's putting on clothes, reading grimoires, jumping on the bed, eating donuts, sleepy Fern, leaning against Freeren. And, of course, T A N E C ! Stark and Fern's dance is great. It feels like everyone involved in the creation process had a lot of fun working on this waltz; Evan Call's music is the cherry on the cake (in the magnificent "Violet Evergarden: Eien to Jidou Shuki Ningyou" his ballroom OST also sounds); everything is done with love. Fern realized that Stark was good-looking (not in terms of appearance, although, of course, he was handsome). I really liked her expression, which changed from uncertain to smiling and relaxed, thanks to Stark's confident driving. We started dancing not out of duty or necessity, but to have fun together. All this is perfectly conveyed through the movements of the characters. Wonderful (he knelt down in front of her twice). Ah, young love! Unsurprisingly, their tag is now at the top of Japanese Twitter.

The fact that the noble Lord of the Order is actually a good father to his youngest son was incredibly gratifying (not like Stark's father). The dynamics between him and Stark are excellent, and the time spent together has been good for both of them. They will never replace each other's father and son, they already have loved ones who will always be waiting for them. The beauty of the series is that it is so intense, so poignant. The Order's storyline took up half of the series, but came out complete and alive.

What a beautiful series.
In the first half, Zayn, so to speak, became convinced of the power of Freerunning. They're quite a couple.
But the history of the Order is both beautiful and sad at once. But how they danced.... Wow!!!

I keep spoiling the series for myself using art from the Internet before watching it. I liked the dance of our main guys, they were well prepared and they coped well with the task.

For the first time in all the episodes, I cried watching freerun. Because of the waltz. I remembered that I wanted to participate terribly with other couples on the last call, but not a single boy agreed then :') it's a pity that gender attitudes do not allow dancing in pairs with a girl 😢
