They have been living together for quite a long time, they have established a comfortable level of psychological openness for both, it is not a surprise for the man that Mizu is capable of "male" affairs, and then just tears off the thread from the fact that she was able to pin him down.

Well, it's just so out of character that it all seems like a plot twist for the sake of a plot twist (even justify with a pinched male ego is somehow weak). I would understand if this event happened a week or a month later, when the force of habit had not yet entered, and here a year of living together has almost passed... At least they would show that he is a patriarchal dude or a purely traditional man of military craft, where women do not belong.

A beautiful series, yes, but what does it give to the plot? The story is good only within the framework of one watch series. At the beginning of the series, they began to throw us "hints" about the darkness inside, then they developed inside the series and at the end they ended with a bold beautiful dot where supposedly everyone turned away from GG and she went straight to the dark side. But in fact, think about it, and what became the result of this series in the global plot? Only the fact of Naginata's masterful mastery of ai causes the emergence of doubts about her mother (which will be confirmed in the last episode). The character of GG did not change after this series in any way, Ringo returned, GG also saves everyone, helps everyone. It was especially annoying how the ending of the series was made, after which GG allegedly stopped being a samurai, etc. - she was charged for not standing up for Akemi, what? She had previously saved an entire brothel from a gang of thugs, including Akemi. And when the soldiers who were sent by her father came for Akemi, did she do anything? So you should have left this little girl hanging out in a brothel? What?
I would like to emphasize once again that the drawing, the setting, the story within the framework of one series are all beautiful - but within the framework of the season, the scenario is a very unreasonable twist, the results of which are refuted and forgotten in the next series.

And Mizu is amazing, she tried to choose a different path (imposed on her), but in the end it's better to be herself. Even if it means accepting the darkness.

In this series, from the central character, the entire raid of a harsh but kind knight, the defender of all the poor and deprived, whose image gathered around her by itself throughout the first four episodes, flew as dramatically as possible. Wow. Very Netflix-like. Well, the puppet theater is amazing. The last thing you expect to see in a cartoon is a puppet theater brawl that reveals the character's past.
