Discussion: Season 1, Episode 8 Join the Discussion
86The main characters played well, grew and developed in the work of spies, and the series accelerated with them. Cool cast in supporting roles 🔥🔥🔥
Separately, the aesthetics of the entire series, the Smiths' apartment, John's fashionable evolution, gorgeous views of various locations.
R. I. P. Wine Wall 💔
I am glad that in fact the ending is open, although judging by several flashes, most likely Jane was still shot and the series may be closed, as well as a True lie last year
Because of their narrow-mindedness, many will miss this series, but here all the puzzles played absolutely as they should 💔
To think about how it could have turned out if Phoebe Waller-Bridge had a hand in it after all is my Roman Empire..
PS HOW COULD YOU HEARTLESS FREAKS KILL A CAT???? 😭😭😭😭😭
In general, I liked the series, it has a lot of funny gags, it has a lot of self-reflection and references, Glover is amazing as always, his partner is not much inferior to him. I would put something around 7.5 out of 10.
But for some reason I don't want to continue, I think the series said everything I wanted, and the ending is quite understandable and expected, we were shown in the first series how people of this profession finish.
"Hi hi everybody!"
If we develop it as a universe where all the members of the organization are John and Jane, then it is no different from the same universe of Wick, where it feels like there are no peaceful citizens left and everyone is working in the organization.
The series itself is quite good, sometimes it makes you smile, sometimes even empathize with a couple. The chemistry between the characters appeared towards the end, as for me.
But I got into a couple💕
And another assumption: at the very beginning, silhouettes similar to the main characters killed "other" Smiths, and as we know, "other" Smiths are killed only at a super-high level, which the main characters have not yet reached. Therefore, there is reason to think that they still survived and were transferred to a higher level. Only 3 shots at the end are confusing, of course... But in my opinion, for such a series, the death of the main characters is not a characteristically too tragic ending.
I hope they will take up season 2🥰
Glover said that he wanted to show a story more real than it was in the film, the story of not the perfect killer models, but those who are sick when they get rid of a corpse, who do not immediately jump into bed at the first meeting, but try to set boundaries, face ordinary, everyday problems, and from that with such close and understandable to the average viewer. So it was very exciting to follow the development of the characters and their relationships. Plus, directed by Hiro Murai, in the first two episodes there is a quiet, measured presentation, on dialogues with light intersperses of action - chef kiss.
Overall, it's a great series and it's even good that the plot doesn't copy the movie. It was shot great, the cast is gorgeous, Paul is given in general from one of the best scenes in the finale, it would be interesting if he is related to HiHi, but the fact that he is a realtor from a real estate agency is even cooler, one of the funniest moments.
I also caught a resemblance to Beef in the finale
plus for the guest actors. I am also delighted with their house.
but Jane's chronic sinusitis infuriated the whole series, I'm sorry
I wouldn't be surprised if they close it
Okay, I really feel sorry for the cat, but the series is very good, due to the sensible interweaving of the chemistry of relationships and the experiences of the characters and the action))
I would love to watch the second season, if there is one. And not an almanac, but a continuation))
I watched the series in one breath and was glad of it
The first three episodes are just super, then there is a sagging, especially 5 and 6, it's just terrible, very stuffy. Then a good 7 and a perfectly completed 8.
P.S. Their house is really a work of art
Thank you, at least they didn't show the cat's corpse in large quantities. And that John's mom wasn't killed for the kit.
I liked the musical accompaniment of the chase very much, and the fights were cheerful, approved.
After all, the other Smiths killed a couple in the first episode, thanks for the explanation. but that pair was really kind of useless.
The open ending didn't please me, I don't like them.
People react to stress in different ways. When my cat died in my arms (cancer, fluid in my lungs), I didn't have the strength to cry or anything. Complete emotional emptiness
It often happens that you watch and wish that the actors were together in reality, you get so into the relationship, but here I did not have this feeling at all
1. The obvious one. at the end, we see three flashes in the window, two coming one after the other, and the third later. It can be assumed that Jane went out and shot at another Jane, the other responded with a shot, then went into the room and finished off John. at the same time, she could have been injured or near death - it doesn't matter. Our Smiths are dead
2. Scenario tricks. Jane could have exchanged shots that did not kill them instantly, then our Jane, during a quick hand-to-hand struggle, took the weapon from another and killed her. it turns out that our Smiths survived, and the blinded other John could hide and become Smith's nemesis in season 2.
3. any others, for example - the girls killed each other and all 4 Smiths are dead.
comparison with the film: the film was light, the essence and presentation was clear and concise, the connection and connection of the characters was as clear as possible and all this in a short time. In the series, they managed to delay it so much, there can be no connection, I want the characters to run away and not drip on the brain either to themselves or to the viewer, well, they do not fit each other in any way. in short, I recommend reviewing the film, and forget about the series as a terrible dream, because it is all saturated with toxicity and stupidity
I liked the series a lot more than the movie. For me, this is more fresh and interesting than a typical action movie with cool and skillful agents who deal with tasks or each other once or twice. Everything is a little clumsy here, which adds realism, and is often more absurd. This project came out very much in the spirit of Donald: therapeutic and relaxed, but not without poignant and comical moments. As many have written, without reference to the film, it is quite a good series.
According to Variety, the main cast members Donald Glover and Maya Erskine will not return in the sequel to the show.
The cat is gone, they are both dead
Throw stones at me, but I wanted to be happy.
девочки я плачу 😭
And I feel sorry for the cat, it's still sad 😢
There is a clever thought that the series was filmed in order to show the essence of the connection between a man and a woman. You can see this by the series titles. They are called almost like some kind of relationship phases. With such series, you want to get married and have relationships less and less.
This couple reminded me of Joe Goldberg and Love Quinn (TV series "You"). Especially for the last episode.
I would give the series 4/5. Overall, I liked it, it was interesting to watch. I stared at it. It rarely happens to me.
An unusual style of action movie, with an emphasis on the development of relations between two people with their deviations and traumas in the psyche.
As for me, this is an improved version of the film's plot, because there is more time to show problems and dependencies.
I read in the comments that there will be a second season. I will 100% watch, but! I want a story about other Smiths already. And I got attached to these and it would be good to show them in season 2, in one of the episodes, in the mountains, happy. Briefly. To show that they survived (for example, earning the respect of a greeting by an equal fight with Smiths from a super difficult risk level).
But in order to be sincere, they were not helped by mirror-frank conversations with their mother and the realtor, but only by the truth serum. It's funny, we all drink this serum after a big quarrel on the verge of divorce, when there's nothing to lose.
But it seems to me that Glover somehow didn't drink enough of it, because the only really good thing here is the soundtrack to the last episode, the rest is almost good.
It's a simple hint that the heroes would like to get naked and come out into the light, but too diligent and frontal, as for me.
I don't know, it seems like all the elements in the show work, and it's clear that smart people put their soul into it, but somehow you don't live for them.
Who liked it - no offense, I don't want to devalue it, it's my taste
Initially, I did not see the chemistry between the characters, and then their life with family problems began somehow quickly: John with a dream of a child, and Jane controlling everything.
The last episode is the most interesting - they finally start telling each other the truth. If they had started doing this earlier, then the situation would not have gone so far.
If there's a sequel, I'll probably watch it. But if not, I won't be too upset.
Flashes of light as an image are a very beautiful technique. The bodies were not shown, so there is no death of the heroes. In other works, it works this way)
The cast of the second season is already known.
They didn't work as a team because everyone was afraid to open up. They began to compare themselves with each other, and because of this, the relationship began to crack. Everyone wanted to protect themselves from the pain in the relationship, and therefore attacked the other. When Jane's punch didn't kill John, she ran away from him, because she didn't want him to hit her back. There are a lot of misunderstandings due to the fact that there is not enough communication and openness in the relationship, hence the interpretation of each other is incorrect. Instead of noticing that they needed to unite against a common enemy, because they were a team, they thought that the enemy was their partner. Although they wanted to hurt each other, they protected each other in situations where someone from the outside attacked their partner. John's mother hinted to Jane that they should have a heart-to-heart talk and get to know each other better before ending the relationship. John ran towards Jane, who was running away from the proximity, in order to catch her and still talk. It was only when both were disarmed and vulnerable to each other that they were able to get closer. Then they heard each other, were able to come to an agreement and did not want to part anymore. Immediately, they had long-term plans for a life together, including even each other's relatives. Interestingly, it wasn't until their relationship had a catharsis that they finally started talking about what was important to them and focused on their relationship. Before that, they opened up to each other until they started acting according to their usual scenarios again and reached an impasse. Sometimes such quarrels are necessary in order to understand that something is wrong in a relationship.
The series forces you to look deep into yourself and calls for vulnerability. I think I'll watch the second season with pleasure.
