The beginning of the season is really good, even if the plot plot is rather uncomplicated and represents an ordinary quest chain. But it looks fascinating.
Captain (now XO) Rainer also makes a good impression.

Да, не ожидала я, куда они Рейнера пихнут. Интересно, у него после капитанства не сломается гордость в старпомах?

Сару достойное прощание устроили и много мудрого он сказал.

Хотя зачем мусорщики отозвались на Бука, так и осталось неясным.

Мыло чуть менее утомляющее, чем в первой серии, благодаря Сару, но всё равно занимает многовато экранного времени для приключенческого сериала.

Чё там Майкл с Буком вообще развалились, как пара, неясно от слова совсем. Я ещё в первой серии руками разводила. Но по этой похоже, что может и сведут назад. Хотя судя по затравке на сезон в конце прошлой серии, может и нет.

В общем, опять обоснование событий неубедительное вообще, ещё хуже чем в прежних сезонах. Но размах и слёзовыжимательность по-прежнему на уровне.

А если бы Райнер слезу пустил, его бы адмиралом сразу сделали.
А так просто взяли и наказали НИ ЗА ЧТО. Сначала "Выполнить приказ любой ценой", а потом "Ой, а вдруг что-то бы случилось". Пипец.

@porco: "At any cost" does not cancel his head on his shoulders, especially since he was predicted what would happen. The day before, he almost blew up the ship because he decided to play chicken with the gangsters' ship. Literally loose canon and too old for this shit in one character.

Rayner is a very interesting and lively character coming out so far.
Rayner fought for 30 years, he was taught to follow orders, to carry them out at almost any or most likely at any cost, and here they want him to rebuild at the snap of his fingers. Yes, even for this mission, they said to get it first, and then return it at any cost. He did everything according to orders, but in the end he was demoted. And the collapse was caused only indirectly by his actions

@id74598320: Yes, you are completely right. They wanted to dismiss me quietly. At first, somehow I didn't think to write about it, and when it came, I already left a comment)
It turns out that Michael is the only reason he stayed in the Navy. And so I think Rayner had the option to either quietly resign or be kicked out altogether with the deprivation of awards and titles, he would arrange a demonstrative spanking to show that they are a new federation.
Indeed, a good reward for 30 years of service, and during one of the most difficult periods of the federation

@AdmeralVl: Here's another thing: it wasn't Rayner who caused the collapse, and the settlement was eventually saved.
Why a public spanking? For saving without enthusiasm on his face?
It feels like they're more afraid of what the Federation will be charged for past cases, so they're scrapping the old Guard.

(Or maybe it's all Vance's cunning plan, to push a friend onto a unique ship to squeeze him out of Burnham in between.)
