Zeria recruits first-class magicians based on intuition, and intuition helps when there is a goal. What does Zeria want, that her intuition tells her that Freeran is not suitable?

@michaelkh: the difference in worldview. Zerie is a bit like a demon, for her magic is something designed exclusively for combat and strength, so any magic that does not improve combat potential has no value for her. For Freeran, magic is something curious and beautiful, helping to find a connection with people. And not only the magic itself, but also the process that leads to its creation. Flamme once told Zerie that it was Freeren who would defeat the Demon Lord precisely because she was not a combat mage, but a mage who wanted to live in peace.

Then why did Zeria collect almost all known types of magic, among which there are many useless ones?

@michaelkh: She is a collector of spells, and can give them away as a reward. But Zerie, of course, is still a controversial elf. She says Flamme's spell is useless, although she conducts an exam among the flowers, tells that she took Flamme as a student on a whim, and she doesn't care that she died, but remembers everything about her as an adopted daughter.

If it weren't for Flamme's love for the ridiculous flower field spell, a lot wouldn't have happened, we can say that it led to Fern, the era of people. Flashbacks with Himmel cause tears, it is beautiful at any age. Freeran was his first and last love. It's just aaaaaaaaaaa 💔 And it hurts and it feels good.

It's funny that she knows she won't pass, but that's also the reason she failed. She does not need the approval of Zerie or the status of a magician of the first rank, because she has already received all the (necessary confirmations) from Flamme and Himmel. Besides, knowing that Fern will definitely pass, it's even easier to leave quietly. The way Fern refused Zerie was incredibly warm, as was the restored staff from Hayter waiting on the bed.

Is there really only one episode left? Watching this amazing series every week is a pleasure, I will read manga, but I really don't want to say goodbye to the anime format, the director and other creators - many awards.

The great magicians, the great disciples, in this series there was an invisible battle between the pupil of Zerie and the pupil of Freeren - the result of the battle is clear, Fern won...

I really liked the silence in this series, the silence that speaks more than words... People like Deknen , elves like Freeren(although there are no such elves) they have lived long enough, they have outlived loved ones, they know the value of words and deeds, that actions are more important than words - Denken rummaged through books (thereby preventing Richter from being sad), Freeren made a wand - so showing care without words, because Fern could not listen to words out of sadness, as well as a beautiful field that was made without words , but saved Himmel's life.

Zerne is true to her words "for great power - great justice" - she became a Freerunner's justice, it's funny how she recognizes her power, but on a whim refuses to assign her a title...

I really don't want to part with this anime, I would like season 2 as soon as possible...

Oh, that Freeran)
Cool anime!
It is a pity that there is only 1 episode left.
There are no such positive emotions from reading manga, although the plot is still good)

A good series.
In a sense, Zerie lost to Freeren. The former still treats people as a whim and entertainment. However, Fern was able to surprise her) After all, she is a true student of Freeran.
But as for emotions... Yes, Freeran is not very picky and generous with emotions. It is this trait that Fern has adopted. Not completely, however, and she has enough difficulties in expressing her emotions.

I wonder if Denken will pass.

Well, in fact, the Freeran thing really does not see itself as a magician of the first rank, because for her it's all childish babble and empty words. And she got involved in this adventure solely to get a pass on.
And one magician will be enough to pass through

It's just amazing how this work, even if almost nothing happens in the series, has the ability to evoke emotions. At least personally, the scene with Himmil touched me, although it did not carry any great drama with it.

Every little thing, every moment and dialogue here is imbued with some kind of extraordinary sincerity, which easily immerses me in the story and characters.

The best new anime that I've seen in the last 2 years is for sure.

I'm looking forward to the last episode

and can someone explain what kind of mana fluctuation I didn't quite understand
the fluctuation when restraining forces or not?

@samirkasamirok: Yes, Freeran is very adept at holding back his mana. And she does it so long and mechanically that only a very skilled magician can convict her of forgery, because one way or another, but the restrained mana creates fluctuations. Beginners have strong ones, those who are burned on the verge of invisibility

And where did Zeri's mana fluctuations come from?

@samirkasamirok: I think it's from the same place. It was Flamme who taught Freeren how to restrain mana. And Flamme herself was taught everything by Zerie. Only, apparently, she hides it in a slightly different way.
There is still a lot we don't know about her, it will be very interesting if they reveal better in the next seasons

@samirkasamirok: I've been thinking about it, and I've come up with some theories about the mana fluctuation at the Zero:
1) We know that mana fluctuates from containment, and whether magicians, on the contrary, can try to expand the mana exuded. Maybe Zeria doesn't have as much magical potential as she's trying to show.
2) Zeria is ill with something or is at the end of her life. Are elves mortal at all, if we consider natural death
3) She also holds back her mana like Freeren, but because of the huge amount of it, even in a restrained form, the flow of mana looks impressive. Then it's scary to imagine how great the magical power of this ancient elf is.
