So I didn't expect this denouement of Zoe's story as early as the first episode of the season. It seemed that there was still something to say. I was pleased with the shift of emphasis towards the heroine Robin Wright. The actress did not lose to Kevin Spacey at all.
@Digital_Jihad: Yes, yes, yes! I am so glad that I was not the only one who greeted such a simple and clever turn with cheers! How tired I am of this meddling weasel everywhere. Phew! Urrah, urrah, now the series will be without her! I hope so =))
@DCraft: This is a kind of comment from the creators of the series regarding the death of Zoey, one of the main characters of the series, saying they can do what they want, so fuck you.
@trophywife: Which one is the main one — she is the same playing card as that alcoholic politician. She was kept while she was profitable, and as soon as she started asking too many questions, she was wasted. But the ambiguity of F U is, of course, subtle =)
@080585: You are absolutely right if we are talking specifically about hierarchy, power exchanges; I meant only screen time, which was given to this girl in abundance. This made her the main character for the time being. So the authors of the article on wikia agree with me: "Zoe Marie Barnes (June 10, 1986 – November 5, 2013) was a Washington, D.C.-based journalist and a main character in the series until her death in the premier episode of the second season." Thank you for making me think back to this once wonderful series with your comment!
Thank you for killing my favorite character at the beginning of the season.. And so, a very good start to the season, however, the voice acting has changed.
After the first season, of course, the voice acting is jarring, but you get used to it. The ending of Zoe's story was sudden, which pleased me. I couldn't help but remember how the main characters in the Game of Thrones are dealt with just as unexpectedly.
It was only a matter of time before Zoe died. I thought that her death would be shown in the last episode of season 1, but no, they left the second one for breakfast. I don't feel sorry for her at all, she knew what she was doing and who she was playing with, she overestimated her strength. Alas, the reality is that reporters tend to die in their hard work.
@Paranoyapark: You say that as if if you become a reporter, you prepare a will. I can still understand when a journalist goes to hot spots to do reports, but the young lady worked in Washington.
As soon as it was shown that Zoey and Frank were meeting on the subway, I immediately realized how it would end. I kept waiting for the train to show up. And yet, part of me didn't want such a banal denouement. Well, then... I won't say that I loved Zoey, but it's still hard to imagine this story without her.
A great start to the season. Zoey is sorry, of course, but she did everything for such an ending. Now let's see if the other two want to continue the investigation or are afraid.
The scene of Zoey's murder is very cool and unexpected for me. For the first episode of the season, it was powerfully wrapped up. I wonder what the wife is up to, why would she leave the office if she's not going to have children? And I also want both journalists to be leaked. Without Zoe, they don't roll at all. Let them introduce new interesting characters.
Usually, the change of voice acting is wildly annoying, but here I was pleased, this old man's voice from the first season did not suit Underwood. Until the last moment, I thought that Zoe was dreaming about all this stuff on the subway, which was too adventurous for a man like Frank.
Zoey is a bright character, it's a shame that the series lost her on the other hand, the way she abruptly became bolder and changed her behavior suggested that she would end up this way. And in fact, such behavior and blind perseverance was more annoying than pleasing, but it's a pity for Congressman Peter, because he did not fall on his own initiative.
The first episode of the second season is much stronger than the last episode of the previous one))) The case of Zoey... Unexpectedly abrupt, but predictable. I knew she'd end up with her pretty nosy nose pinched.
Congressmen are divided into senators and representatives, so one does not contradict the other, but you're right Frank was not a senator, she was from the House of Representatives.
I am shocked by the last 10 minutes of this episode. I don't know how, but I didn't expect this at all. They were standing quietly talking and then he pushed her under the train. Holy shit! And the appeal to the audience after that, it even became creepy. After the generally vague season 1 finale, it was strong. I agree with the comments above, the cufflinks moment is cool! It would seem a small detail, but it stands out))
A very, very powerful series. The scene in the subway, the whole Claire line (an amazingly smart and surprisingly ruthless woman), the final speech, and these cufflinks (Meacham is either a very stupid or a very smart man, most likely the first, but suddenly)))
Yes, everything happened so fast. And Claire, it turns out, is also capable of murder. I don't know if she was bluffing or not, but she and Frank are worth each other.
I like Kate Mara, it's a pity that she was taken out of the series. I thought that maybe Frank's opponent would grow out of her, that she would dig under him, confuse his cards. But no, Frank gets rid of threats ahead of time.
Urrah, urrah, now the series will be without her! I hope so =))
well, by the way, the kepon looked kind of corny
When he finally addressed us, comparing Zoey to a cat, I screamed like a kitten!
But the ambiguity of F U is, of course, subtle =)

P.S. Cool cufflinks "F. U."
and these Easter eggs can not but please)

incredible series, very exciting and makes you immediately watch the next series!
