There are already a lot more mistakes here than in previous episodes, yes. The idea of phantoms reminded me of one of the Ergo Proxy series. There was one of the Proxies like this.
And so yes - it really didn't work out. I hope that the clues scattered so far and all sorts of strange phenomena/events will "reunite" in the last episode.
