@Its_only_me: yes, I was always perplexed that he was not given at least a more or less long-term role in any of the titles at least, but it turned out that he did not want to
Yes, the Ninth will be missed... I looked at the photos of the following Doctors - this is the most original, it seems to me, a mixture of charisma and brutality.
I roared almost the entire episode (and now I don't know how to watch it further, without the Ninth. But initially I started watching the series because of Tennant. Who knows why Eccleston refused to continue filming?
One of the two most beloved Doctors. The Ninth and Tenth forever -)
And it's very sad that there's only one season with Eccleston, very much. But what a one! Having flipped through the episodes of the first season now, I realized that I have most of the episodes added to my favorites, that there are almost no passing episodes - literally 2-3 pieces. It turned out to be a great start for a new doctor -)
@PlanePassenger: from the point of view of statistics, it is logical, but I compared it with the following seasons, and in these indicators they lose somewhat to the first one
I started getting acquainted with the series from this season and it was not easy to watch. The characters talk about the possibility of getting to any point in the universe, and as a result, absolutely all the series revolve around the Earth, even in different epochs. I didn't like how they treat time, the screenwriters treat it as they like, cause-and-effect relationships are lost, it's not like an adult) It's a pity that the actor was changed, charismatic. I will look further to understand why so many people like the series.
Surprisingly. But Tennant.. So fast?! I expected to see him only in season 3-4... Yes, I thought so. The Ninth Doctor was given at least one season, unlike the Eighth, which was given only one film. Still, I want more episodes with Eccleston..
It just so happens that my first doctor is 11, and he remains my favorite. But at first I didn't like 9 at all. But with each episode, my love for him grew and grew, I miss him very much. A wonderful actor, a wonderful doctor.
I watched the entire classic series first and, in my opinion, the first season of the relaunched Doctor spits all the previous ones. The script of the season is amazing, the humor is on top and, most importantly, Eccleston brilliantly coped with the role. Perhaps this Doctor is the most humane of all the previous ones - he is characterized by mood swings, he is characterized by rigidity, vindictiveness, cynicism, and at the same time humanism inherent in all doctors. He even reflects from time to time, damn it! And, of course, it is impossible not to note the addition of a romantic line) The series was not just restarted, but rethought with the setting of the vector for further development. In the classics, in recent seasons, the series did not develop, but went on a roll, which eventually resulted in its closure.
You were fantastic.. So was I! Damn, it's love! The season was just as wonderful, despite its clumsiness in places and visual clumsiness. But the plot, the acting, the humor are so exciting that you don't look at the picture so much anymore) At one time, it was advised to start immediately with the second season of new school, and only then, having imbued with the series, watch the first one, but I did not regret that I started with the Ninth Doctor, this charisma! I am glad that there are so many more episodes ahead :) Although there is a slight chance that there will be no more than the ninth :( And Jack Harkness is so sweet, charming! Hot! I like him here much more than Malcolm in the Arrow)
I just finished season 1, but I already feel like I miss Eccleston in this role. He was beautiful. Rose was annoying from time to time, but there is some charm in Billie Piper. Well, the captain, the captain of one love.
I'm reviewing it now and I'm convinced again: regardless of the other incarnations, Eccleston was just great, I really love the 9th. And I love this "New teeth. That's weird" at the end of <3
It's a masterpiece, even after many years and a lot of revisions. I still get the creeps from a lot of moments. How well they made themselves Sputnik 5 this season, and there is no need to bother, there is always a place for a battle, ahahah. I review the series essentially every three years, and every time I find more and more new facets, although it would seem where. The topic is about a false god, and how we build them for ourselves, as there really are such beings as the Emperor of the Daleks who believe that I have the right to decide everything and for everyone...It is very reminiscent of many church and political figures at all times. I will not get tired of singing odes to Captain Jack Harkness, because he is a girl's dream in the flesh. A charismatic, charming handsome man who is not afraid to show his feelings, who comes and opens the door with his foot in moments of danger, while remaining the same gallant gentleman. A hot guy to the tips of his nails. Barrowman is my love for the ages. Mickey and Jackie are also great fellows, how they held Rose, although they really wanted her to stay, and how they both stepped on their throats and did the right thing. Rose, of course, in this situation you understand, and you don't understand - it's impossible to live after what you saw and know that friends are dying there, but to say that you have nothing here for a person who loves you so much... Cruelly. But that's what Rose is all about, a pushy girl, stubborn and rebellious. I love her for that. This frightening, gloomy chorus at moments with the Daleks is right to the depths of the soul, as if demons are singing in Hell. What I like about RtD seasons is fantastic, always, but with such a share of everyday and sweet romance. Like with these two programmers promising to get drunk if they survive. It is very touching that attention is being paid to the second plan.
@chch93: The arch with the "Evil Wolf" remains one of the most beloved. How you sit all season and do not understand why these words begin to appear everywhere, but it sounds like a divine sign. They pulled off a very strong plot move with Rose. Well, I don't get tired of worrying that it was worth waiting for the end of the world for the Doctor to kiss the girl. Speaking of birds, Billy and Christopher have amazing chemistry. At the same time, it's not like they've been doing nothing but hugging and holding hands all season, but these looks...these simple words... "You can ask. Didn't it occur to you?", "I can't leave you." He could turn around and leave if she asked, but she wouldn't, because she knows he won't forgive himself for it, and that's why he appreciates her so much. There has always been a lot of care for each other, understanding, arguments between them, but never direct romance, only on the edge, and I like it, I love this, I love something that does not require explanation, as they have. The doctor and the hard choice are already classics. And you always have to have great courage to take so many lives on your own account. And why is it always him? Because he knows how to do it, he will save worlds, even if others die, but he saves, he acts, he does not sit still, and this is better than empty thoughts. Everyone can talk, but not everyone does what they say. I will always regret and miss the Ninth very much, he really was moderately humane and brutal, he was able to suffer for five seconds, and silently rush into battle, he was able to be funny and kind while no one was looking. I don't know about my favorite Doctor, because after a year I realize that the Doctor is the only one for me, and to single out someone...an incredibly difficult task. Every actor did a great job. Hi, David, show us, the Scottish pie is all it's capable of.
In general, you can love or dislike the Ninth Doctor, but he coped with his task perfectly - he reminded those who forgot about the Doctor and showed him to those who did not know about him. And this despite the fact that he still remains one of the most original incarnations, without him there could not have been a sequel, despite all the efforts of Russell-our-Davis. PS: I recently found out about his participation in some regular LEGO game (2015), where there are several missions unexpectedly dedicated to Doctor Who. If suddenly someone played, share your impressions, it's very interesting)))
I watched the first season. Well. I liked the 9th doctor (I didn't watch the old version). Billy Piper. I don't like her in this series. I've seen her in other paintings. She's a good actress. But there's probably one excuse - most likely inexperienced yet. There were no tears at all during the season. I don't know yet why this series attracted everyone so much. And why there is so much hype around it (still). I hope I understand why the series is so popular.
Cheap decorations and props. Limited filming locations. Ridiculous minor characters. A cliche on pathos. God is out of the car. Literally. But the characters cause feelings and interest to watch this wonderful show further.
The question for experts is: is it worth looking beyond the titles or is it possible to only number series? Will I miss much? (I usually watch the episodes after the numbered episodes in the season).
@MARxLENin: Just watch them go there. If there is a numbered series and a special, then look at it, if there is a special and then the series itself, then look at it It's just that the following titles are required to watch, because they are a direct continuation of this series)
Um... The series is a continuation of the original series, there was only one movie in between.
But he turned out to be a cool doctor)
but the first opinion was: "What? And this is the Doctor?"
A great series, it's just a pity that the ninth stayed here so little:(

- You need a doctor.

Безумно обидно, что Девятому уделили всего один сезон. Я буду безумно скучать по нему❤️
