There are biological inconsistencies - if they even tried to explain the temperature, then what about plants? They can only survive in sunlight, which means either they really didn't think it through, or the plants on this planet have a different structure, but it would have to be explained or shown

Mmm.. I can believe in plants that live on a planet without light, but then they should not have wide green leaves for photosynthesis, but something like cotton balls with a very large surface area in a very small volume, to extract everything directly from the air, in the manner of fish gills.
