It became sad during Ted's conversation with his parents and Robin, because we were already told that Robin would not be the mother of his children

For some reason, it seemed that at the end of the series, Ted would already break up with Robin, after the whole story with his parents.

Да уж, Тед решил подробно рассказать детям о том, как встретил их маму. Настолько подробно, что хватило аж на 9 сезонов. И в 1 мамы нет и в помине. Наверное, она появится сезону к 8-9.
