An incredibly intense film, what an intrigue. The ending is completely unexpected. The inaction of the police was a little surprising, but there was no time to think about it, everything was so fast.
Without such a denouement, it would be possible to put 3-3.5, but because of the merged ending, only 1.5 stars for a promising and interesting start.
*THERE ARE SPOILERS - DON'T READ IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED*
A merged ending that completely does not fit into the plot that was shown earlier. Within the framework of the film, where we watch all the characters, it looks good, BUT according to the script everything happens on the radio. And here the story breaks.
As soon as the plot turns to wandering through the corridors, the whole idea of a prank just doesn't work. Corpses scattered here and there, signs on necks, microphone mute, no conversations for a long time - it's all done as if only for a novice trainee, because listeners do not see and cannot appreciate it. They are just bored at this time, not seeing or understanding what is happening. All these scenes, sounds and actions could be simulated just by sitting in one room without making a mess of the whole building.
Actually, because of this, the impressions of the film were spoiled.
Even if they were recording on video and wanted to make a video about it, it doesn't work that way either - everyone is aware of what is happening, except for the intern (who is also aware of the outcome). Well, then why complicate everything on the table, turn the cameras away from the doors, break the elevator, run up 15 floors up the stairs, make your way through the elevator shaft and do a lot more to complicate the creation of an entertainment show.
The very idea of such a turn is not new, and the idea of a prank quickly comes to mind, especially so far that everything happens only within the framework of a phone call. But when everything moves to an office building, it stops working and you dismiss this idea, because too much is happening off the air. And when at the end you are given an obvious turn from the very beginning as something unexpected, it just looks ridiculous.
And it's interesting.
It makes you watch the movie from beginning to end without stopping. Delve into what is happening and think! Really think, and not just stare at the screen at a bunch of special effects and beautiful staged battles without meaning.
In some places, the film seems heavy, but it is definitely worth watching to the end.
But I would be more happy for Dylan to be a real guy and after such a psychological trauma he went off the rails and took revenge on them by arranging a real game of survival ehehe)
And considering the second ending, everything makes no sense at all, because Dylan knew everything and it was just a fucked-up time.
