I don't like Cameron Diaz, to be honest, but I love this movie to the thrill of my soul. Everything here is too real, too complicated and too touching... So much so that it resembles the truth much more than in many New Year's melodramas. Jack Black is simply adorable and very attractive here. And Winslet is such a cutie!

A great positive film from which you don't expect a sudden raft twist. Wonderful actresses, and Jude Law is just wow!! And this is the vibe of the early 2000s 🤌🤌

I love watching this movie in early December. There is no pronounced Christmas atmosphere in it, but there is still a sense of celebration and winter comfort. I genuinely like both heroines. I like the way the movie was shot. And I love it for its calm, measured plot without sudden twists.

"Exchange Vacation" is Nancy Myers in all her signature magic: cozy interiors, perfect kitchens, and love stories that work like a warm blanket just taken out of the dryer. The plot is as fabulous as possible: the heroines Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet change houses after unsuccessful affairs, and find new men and a second wind. Jude Law's charm is at its maximum, Jack Black is unexpectedly touching and sincere.

Yes, the plot is predictable to the point of toothache, but the charm is irresistible. Myers knows how to build comfort like a superpower: garlands, snow cottages, scenes like postcards, only with a Hollywood cast. The timing is slightly overblown (136 minutes is like an extra cookie for tea), but you watch and still swallow with pleasure.

Jack Black seems like the strangest choice for a romantic story, but his good nature works. And Jude Law... well, there's not even a need to explain, half of the audience is mentally registered in his cottage.

Afterword: corny? Sure. But sometimes you don't need cynicism — you need garlands, cocoa, and Cameron Diaz, who is crying in a luxurious mansion.

I love the phrase said by Arthur: "we'll embarrass ourselves sooner, we'll forget sooner." It sounds like a motto for life.
