It's a masterpiece. Many techniques are still used in cinema, which were first tried by Hitchcock. And how many times has it been reshot, or there were references to the scene in the bathroom...

The best of the best! First he, and then Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga...
the first black-and-white film that I watched and finally fell in love with Hitchcock. Since then, the films of the 40s - 60s are my special love!

I liked the Bates Motel series. Can someone explain the cult character of this film, because many details are beyond explanation. For example, when the detective was talking to Norman, there was a mother's voice in the window, why?
It was explained in the film that Norman was changing clothes, but he couldn't be in two places at the same time.

@radubegod: It was his mother's skeleton, which he hid in the basement towards the end of the film.

I watched it for the first time, I unexpectedly liked it. I didn't think I'd enjoy watching a black-and-white movie, even though I like black-and-white photos. The music, the shots, the dialogues, everything is beautiful and at the same time keeps you in suspense.

It's a cool movie, but the impressions are mixed.

Undoubtedly, the film was a breakthrough for the 60s, but now, in 2025, some techniques and visual solutions and the structure of the plot no longer seem as innovative as before. Although this does not negate the fact that "Psycho" is a cult classic.

Because the denouement is just unsettling — I thought that the main character was covering for his mother, that since this was just the beginning of the development of the style, then everything would be clear at first glance, but everything turned out to be completely different. There is an intrigue and it makes one wonder about the motives of the characters.

In general, at least if you want to understand why this film is so important for thrillers and for cinema in general, it is definitely worth watching.
