We continue the theme of difficult filming — seven more movies whose creation was accompanied by accidents, breakdowns, too dangerous stunts, and situations when studios seriously considered closing the project. These films seem like familiar classics, but behind them are stories of real production hell.

What a noir-based movie this is.. I don't know if they came up with it, or if they just put together successful ideas from other representatives of the genre, but it looks great.
Now I see what inspired the creators of L.A. Noire.. (or maybe they were inspired by something else)
In general, it's a great movie! No wonder the Oscar for the original screenplay

What a neo-noir place, whose arid heat is physically palpable through the screen, and where even the ocean seems to be boiling. A color film with a black-and-white soul, capturing in its intricate scenario networks and leaving with a burning sense of hopelessness at the end.

Forget it, Jake, this is Chinatown.

Such old stories, besides telling about an even older time, can be interesting, informative and exotic to watch. But there are difficulties in correctly assessing the actions of the characters, the events of the plot, and the overall quality of the movie. It was the same with this movie. The beginning was quite interesting as a detective story, but it was shot very slowly and painfully. In the last third, the events fell in a chaotic heap, some of the episodes were generally superfluous, in my opinion. And the main character? I still didn't understand from his actions how the director wanted to show him: is he positive, negative, neither this nor that, smart, stupid, who made a mistake? In general, it was difficult to seriously watch and evaluate, but I got an aesthetic pleasure from immersing myself in a completely different world. From this point of view, I liked it.
