When two poor Greasers, Johnny and Ponyboy, are assaulted by a vicious gang, the Socs, and Johnny kills one of the attackers, tension begins to mount between the two rival gangs, setting off a turbulent chain of events.
It's a wonderful movie. It shows very subtly that each person chooses his own destiny, circumstances, of course, have an impact on life situations, but the last decision is still for the person. Everyone makes their own choice - to do the right thing or the wrong thing. People divide each other, become enemies, like Aces and Brioliners in terms of financial situation, although guys are much the same. Darrell and the head of the Aces used to be friends, Ponyboy also realizes that enmity is not an option, a friend of the murdered Ben realizes that Ponyboy and Johnny are not bad if they risked their lives to save the children, and testifies in court in their favor. The actors played amazing, absolutely everything. Each image is clearly spelled out, and the stories are brought to a logical conclusion. The fate of the Curtis brothers and their friends is very emotional, touching and life-affirming.
To be honest, I've been wanting to watch it for 2 years, and when I did, I was disappointed. But it's probably funny how they could shoot well before, given that only 3 of the cast in the film became or were already famous. You can watch the movie once!
