I prefer the people vs mysterious predators format.
turns out that only a predatory mom can be worse than a domineering dad... But I don't recall that in the entire franchise at least once they showed the lady yautzha...
the planet, of course, is fire. Compared to her, Pandora is a botanical garden named after her. Kosenko.
Weyland has gone far, those are still fans of large-scale construction projects on alien planets.
I got the movie, and I think I'll even review it as it will be better with Russian subtitles of the language of predators.
It turns out that only a predatory mom can be worse than a domineering dad... And yet, I don't recall that in the entire franchise, at least once they showed a lady yautzha...
It seems to me that there will be a very similar warrior there, such as in the animated series Arcane, who was watching, will clearly understand who I was talking about. There was 1 lady of 40 years of African-American descent, strong in body and spirit
They think they'll show something similar here.
I think I'll even reconsider how it will be better in quality.
It was released yesterday at 1080, I think, and I just watched the dubbing today.
- It's nice to watch the actress.
- Special effects - expensive and rich.
"They're joking around. (It's a child's toy!!!)
- But the script is written for six-year-olds. (
He fed the snake and now it will spit at his enemies. Pancake.
I didn't sweat it, I posted a picture and got a mountain of advantages, but if I tried, I wrote a review the length of a sheet... There are disadvantages.
Look, look above,
it looks like the banners are being used by the same people who post them. They play along with each other.
at least it's shameful, but for the most part it's shameful!
and the movie is so grumpy.
as a one-off and with reservations, it will go as a continuation of Laura - a sad * sheep (((
There is outright theft - the most high-profile recent case is directed by Carl Eric Rinsch. He received $11 million from Netflix to complete the series, but spent it on luxury cars (Rolls-Royce, Ferrari), watches and even mattresses for $ 638 thousand. The series was never filmed, and the director was found guilty of fraud.
Or here is the case of Franchise Pictures, which announced the budget of the film "Battlefield: Earth" at $75 million, deceiving investors. The court found that the real expenses amounted to only $44 million, and the rest were fictitious accounts. The studio was ordered to pay compensation, after which it went bankrupt.
Money laundering through movies/TV shows is widespread. For example, during the production of The Wolf of Wall Street, a money laundering scheme was revealed. Part of the funds (out of the stolen $700 million from the Malaysian fund) went to finance the film.
And we must understand that there are only known cases where they were able to notice a crime and sue for it, and how many remain unknown.
There are also formally legal schemes.:
The scheme with the "daughters". The studio creates a front company that charges unreasonably high bills for its services (marketing, distribution). As a result, the film formally has no net profit, although it has grossed billions at the box office.
Fictitious catering. The classic scheme is when a studio creates a front company (for example, for food delivery) owned by the same owners. This company bills for food at wildly inflated prices. An example went down in history when the "cost of coffee and donuts" was inflated to a million dollars in a few months of filming.
Postings with extras. The estimate includes payments for hundreds of extras, but only a few dozen people are being filmed. The rest of the money is written off as "fees" and goes "to the left".
And so on and so on.
whether the film was shot that way. Everything is blurred, or it seems that there is a lot of fog in order to close the holes in the graph
I also noticed that some kind of soap seemed to be of poor quality (the quality was taken from the cinema), but no, he writes that the quality is good, but somehow it is not noticeable in the picture
From the Trachtenberg trilogy, Prey is still my favorite, but I'm waiting for more yummy things from him, I hope for Alien vs Predator, since Weyland Yutani is directly in this movie
In this regard, the same Alien Romulus was closer to the original films than the new predator!
Disney made some kind of Mandolorian out of Predator... it's no longer the brutal horror thriller that it was in the 80s and 90s.
If you haven't noticed, that's how it's done now, even from drawing in animated series to movies, everything has become easier and worse on the green screen and that would take less money and effort, but you want a lot of money from us at the same time
Yes, if earlier special effects in movies were like magic and caused the viewer to wonder how they did it. Now modern films raise one question: I wonder if they filmed it at all. And it sucks
But I repeat... Overall, it's a decent film.
Recommended for viewing!
If there was any style to the franchise (and for me, not really, the films are quite different), then it definitely dissolves into other more successful fantasy universes. And overall, as a non-fan, I liked it. A simple, light and heartfelt story is probably not what you expect from a Predator, but what you often want from a good entertaining movie.
But we're not people of the past, we're people of the future, and it's been 35 years since Predator 2 premiered, so we're ready for this movie.
We are ready for the fact that the Predator is no longer an alien threat in an action-horror game that runs around somewhere out there and sometimes it is shown briefly for a second in the dark..
Now the Predator is the main character who is preparing for the final fight no worse than Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Well, I'm sad to admit it, but the movie entertained me, I liked it, it's pretty brave, and funny. And this movie puts an end to it. Now the predator will never return to action horror.
Now Predator is a family movie with a fan service. For better or worse, that's a fact. Times are changing.
What?!!!!
The drawing immediately comes to mind. - A primitive man in a skin swings a stone: "Now this is my planet!"
If humanity focuses its gaze... The rocks will turn to dust! ;-)
After questionable Prey, it looks in one go ๐
upd I would like to see the continuation of Predators, but alas and ah
the film seems to be trying to follow the canons, revealing some new details from other sides and making references to past parts, including "aliens" with the Weyland Yutani Corporation.
with all this, the film has become more entertaining. it became brighter, it was filled with humor and stylish effects. and the film is not devoid of dynamics. Many of the scenes look big and you definitely won't get bored.
it was still interesting to watch, even though here and again they slightly deviate from the original parts.
I'm very pleased with how Trachtenberg reveals the predator universe, it's just a bombshell. ๐๐ผ
They only talked about the cartoon - the self-image of himself, so to speak, in the new cartoon, because he is already over 70, until they decide to shoot a new part, he will be 80 years old, and at that age he will no longer fight against them, and even the rejuvenation of the character will not help, because the face will be too, and unfortunately the movements are already old, so to speak, so that 90% that it will be some kind of new cartoon where he will voice himself from that old 90 movie, only already in animation
But the film turned out to be spectacular, of course. You can't take that away from him. I would say โ such a Predator: Friendship and family are magic2!
1 If you didn't kill your son before that, otherwise you're fucked!
2 And also explosions, jumping on trees and spitting acid.
In general, the film brought me back to my childhood, I watched and was happy as a child) I think that being a child and seeing such a continuation of the original dilogy, there would be no limit to my happiness ๐
Well, of course it's not the most adult film, but maybe it's necessary. Nevertheless, I fell in love with the first part when I was very young
One of the disadvantages... probably only GG himself, I got used to it for a long time, although I understand that everything is justified by the plot
But at the same time โ which is funny โ you can watch. There are moments where you just feel: well, yes, we did our best here. A couple of scenes are even really funny, as if the creators themselves realized that everything was too serious and decided to dilute this matter with jokes.
The main problem is that this is not the same "Predator" anymore. The atmosphere of classic hunting, the tension, it's all like being on sick leave. Instead, an almost "Disney" filter appears: everything is neat, safe, smooth, without the dirt and rigidity for which the franchise was respected. It feels like the monster has been slightly embellished to fit into the PG-13 world, although the film itself tries to pretend that it is tough.
The result is something in between: sometimes watchable, sometimes crooked, but the overall impression is quite normal. You're not sitting in shock, but you're not spitting either. This is a movie that you can watch in the evening, relax and spare no time. Even if it's no longer the same Predator we remember.
I didn't like that the movie itself was kind of dark, like an attempt to hide bad special effects. I'm not an expert with professional transformation, I just don't like looking at the frame every time, trying to figure out what's going on there..
Thea is cool. But you have to endure twenty minutes of muddy nonsense before it. At first, she is very glib with her choice humorous phrases. And then he switches to some quotes from the kid's publications, and then from the vanilla ones. The film is like a Western version of the Momotaro fairy tale. Where the predator is not a hunter who lives for the sake of the hunting process, but not a misunderstood kid who wants to make friends. At the same time, although he is like the title character, in fact, ALL the strong characters are women. And the process of his becoming a hunter is not shown. There is no feeling that by fighting red-shirted syntheses or a couple of local fauna, he has developed enough to single-handedly defeat three Yautja.
This is, of course, better than Mining, but something completely motivated.
"This is my mom," they said.
And the expectations were low, but here... It's like this!
We have revealed a little about the ENT of predators, which we have wanted for many years.
Yes, it's very painful to see "such a flawed predator," but it's still new, it's cheerful, it's cool!
Good entertaining teen movies. With humor. And the main character is not a predator at all, but a wolf, whoooooooooooo...
An interesting predator with big goals and the charming Elle Fanning, who lacks stars from the sky here, but still the eye is glad to see her in a successful project.
Dan Trachtenberg is definitely making an original offshoot, and it seems even cooler, although now it's hard to imagine a man fighting on equal terms with such unreal creatures, everything has become more futuristic and Martian with too much. Ah, and anyway, this is what the Predator line needed, more than other planets, an expansion of the entourage with fights, where not only humans and aliens go to the collection, but also new animals.
We live in an amazing time. Disney, which rolled Star Wars (at least the full-length films) into the asphalt and almost ditched the Marvel movie comics (not without the help of the Marvels themselves, of course), miraculously pulled two fantastic series out of oblivion at once, which had not been in the best condition for many years, and brought them into a divine form. Albeit with minor reservations, the last few years have been almost the best in decades in the lives of "Aliens" and "Predator". Xenomorphs are developed by Fede Alvarez on big screens ("Alien: Romulus") and Noah Hawley on small ("Alien: Earth"). Dan Trachtenberg took up the story of a space hunter with a code of honor and put on three projects in three years ("Prey", "Killer of Murderers", "Planet of Death") and is not going to stop. If we compile a famous meme and a recent interview with Hawley about the possibility of a Predator appearing in his series, then obviously Trachtenberg has some kind of tactic from the very beginning and he adheres to it. Careful step by careful step towards something big.
For the first time in 6 films of the main series (and, by the way, in 2 more crossovers with strangers), Trachtenberg asked the right question.: "And how does the best hunter in the galaxy, or even more than one, lose time after time?". Along with this, another problem arose, and who should the predator defeat so that the audience would cheer for him and everything would not come down to a horror movie about a maniac (albeit a high-tech one), where the killer wins and there is no celebration, i.e. a happy ending for the heroes. Trachtenberg quickly rejected the idea of the Nazis as targets and the Second World War as a setting, realizing along the way that viewers no longer had the desire to watch the same story about "Who is killing us so mysteriously?!", but was inspired by another fantastic series, which, like the "Aliens" James Cameron had a hand in it. The answer to these questions can perfectly serve as the concept of the second "Terminator" - the villain of the previous part becomes a hero!
And now the focus is on Dek, a representative of one of the harshest clans of the Yautzha aliens, who is unhappy with his father and the leader of the clan. Dak wants to prove that he is not some kind of disgrace and goes to the planet Genna, where he is going to get an "impossible" trophy, a monster called Kalisk. The problem is that representatives of the Weyland-Yutani corporation, which has long been familiar to the viewer from "Strangers", are hunting for Kalisk at the same time.
Despite the fact that the new Predator has a lot of problems, I probably haven't enjoyed a feature film about this universe so much since the original dilogy. Perhaps I wrote about the same thing about Trachtenberg's last project, "Killer of Murderers," but it's still an animation and, rather, a collection of short stories, albeit united by a cross-cutting plot. The trend, however, is visible in any case - the franchise is in safe hands.
Anyway, Trachtenberg really came up with something new based on Predator. Shifted the focus from humans to the Predator. He became seriously involved in the development of the world (Hawley, by the way, also distinguished himself in this in "Earth"). Why, he was the first to voice the long-established self-designation of the predator race on the screens! It all looks quite original. But one thing must be understood and accepted.: It's already Disney after all. So, wait for the first feature film on "Predator" with a children's rating. The cunning director, of course, did everything in his power so that you would not pay attention to this, transferring the action to another planet, where all the local and alien inhabitants either do not bleed, or emit blood from different places that is not scarlet or even dark cherry. At the same time, the predator Dek packs synthetics very cruelly and inventively (not a single person will be here all the time), and flora and fauna also get, of course. Plus, wait for the local baby Groga, who smells not only of "Mandalorian", but also a little Lilo and Stitch. However, he is quite charismatic (and a little bit psychopathic), so it doesn't annoy, even if his role becomes quite obvious from a certain moment.
Now about the advantages. Everything looks very nice and expensive. There is no feeling that you have saved money somewhere. A couple of times, battles take place at night, but this is a necessary evil. Local wildlife and plants that seek to deal with unwanted guests as soon as possible are remembered both by their design and by the way they act. It turned out to be such an extremely dangerous Pandora (I remember Cameron's grandfather again...) Well, what use the Predator finds for each such notable representative closer to the end is my respect. In general, the Predator itself does not cause rejection, despite the fact that there were questions about his face in the trailers (in any case, he is a freak in the plot, even by the standards of his relatives) - he goes to his goal, once again does not whine, comes up with all sorts of things. But the real decoration of the film is synthetics. She and her "sister" Tessa were played by Elle Fanning. Well, if Tessa came out as a fairly standard android, then Tia, despite her direct connection to the evil corporation, came out as the most cheerful and cheerful synthetic in the world of "Aliens" (well, and now "Predator", obviously). Fanning is a great smart girl and her Aunt is the soul of the picture, both thanks to jokes and skillful footwork in unusual circumstances. If anything, in some places, the adventures of Dec and Tia remind of the duo of Chewbacca and C3PO from the time when the empire was striking back, and Chewie had to carry an android on his shoulders like a backpack.
Well, perhaps the most important thing: when watching "Planet of Death", there is a repeated desire to pick up the gamepad and start controlling the Deck, so that you can hit better, jump higher, and make turns on time. It can be seen with the naked eye that Trachtenberg is a player with experience. You can feel the influence of Uncharted, and the latest God of War, and Fumito Ueda's projects (of course, Shadow of the Colossus, but not only), and all sorts of Soul-likes (during the battles with the "bosses"). And that's cool, because Trachtenberg is not mentally limited by the cinematic framework. The local action is fierce, driving and staged with fiction.
Anyway, as Tia said, "I've never had this before... I liked it!". It's moderately cruel, moderately fun, and it doesn't have time to get boring. Yes, this is not the first "Predator", but it will never happen again. "Planet of Death" does not stand still and sincerely tries to attract new viewers and not disappoint old fans. As for me, everything turned out as it should.
I hope that Trachtenberg will still be able to implement his plan and complete all the threads that he started not only in "Prey" and "Killer of Killers", but also by his predecessors. Perhaps something grandiose awaits us in the spirit of the first "Avengers".
RATING: 5 codes of honor out of 5
The authors change events and scenes very dynamically, but this does not affect the overall impression - as if I watched a mini-series. Bribed by the adaptability of the main character, a logical transformation on a wild planet
Unexpectedly strong tape
If I didn't relate to Predators and their franchise.
What director Trachtenberg builds in his films and cartoons is a youth tent, not a high-tech alien hunter with principles. Logical inconsistencies can also be found in the original 1987 film, but it was completely unnecessary to make this film out of them.
///Riddick's film perfectly conveys this concept.///
I have other questions from the franchise.
If the Predator is a hunter, it's an athlete. Who takes a break from working days while hunting. What's at his place?
And at home he has a civilization that builds starships!!!
They showed us some kind of "Indians" in the cinema. How's that? Or are they themselves inhabitants of the "human zoo"? To whom, someone more powerful gave out a "spear" and a "boat". "Come on, show me the ancestral crafts!" Then the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, with its long-term flights. It's like mice stealing cookies!!!
I thought Hollywood couldn't do that anymore-inventive, dynamic, funny, spectacular.
Fire!
The best of the latest action games
Everything in this movie is there and fights and humor and nature and a little drama
He shouted from the stage at the end, "this is my mother"
For fanfiction, it will do for once)
โA separate pain is the characters and the visual. The characters behave like cardboard dummies, there is zero logic in their running around, there is no one to empathize with. And the alien himself doesn't scare you at all anymore. It used to be an invisible, mysterious hunter: jungle, suspense, goosebumps just from his chirping! And then they dumped a ton of graphonium on us, turning the Predator into an ordinary CGI monster from a passing video game. There's no mystery anymore, just colorful action for the sake of action. We've shot, blown up, and we're splitting up.
โAn absolutely boring movie that gets forgotten five minutes after the credits roll. It's better to go and review the classics with Schwartz - even now it looks a hundred times cooler.
