Overview

The man behind the legend and a knowing look at 1950s Hollywood are revealed in this dynamic biopic of the meteoric star whose troubled life echoed his gut-grabbing performances in East of Eden, Rebel Without a Cause and Giant.

Once again, I am convinced of how difficult it is to make a film based on real events, so that it is exciting and interesting, to fit a person's fate into the timing of the film, to reveal it.
To be honest, the film didn't get me hooked, it didn't evoke emotions towards the character. Apparently, you need to be familiar with his work. In any case, I feel sorry for him. It is a pity that I lost my mother's love early, that I had to earn my father's love and approval, that his star quickly lit up and went out. Of course, the father is a coward and a scoundrel, to behave like that with the boy, not to explain anything, not to let him on the threshold! In any case, you have raised him as a son for so many years, he loves you and considers you his own father, he is not to blame for anything, your anger at your wife should not affect him. From the perspective of a wife, I would think about the kind of person I live with.
The film captures the atmosphere of the 50s very well, you even forget that the film is from 2001.
