A rather weak anthology, despite the fact that famous directors had a hand in the future. Here are the guys from Radio Silence, marked with new "Screams " and "I'm going to look for ", and Adam Wingard ("You're finished ", "Guest", new " The Witch from Blair), and Ty West (X, Pearl from recent projects), and David Bruckner (relaunch of Hellraiser, Ritual"). In terms of the idea, it's gorgeous, but the execution has failed. Surely on paper everything looked much more interesting than it turned out. Quite tedious, disgusting camerawork, despite even the style, the stories, in general, do not tighten. Except that a through-and-through novel about the siren is kept in suspense (by the way, it has an offshoot-a full-length film. It will be necessary to get there somehow). About the bump on the arm, in general, the camera saves, which finally does not shake like mad, and an unexpected ending. It was possible to tell better about the second honeymoon, but here West's trademark slowness played a cruel joke - after all, the format of the anthology does not imply a long swing. Halloween and Tuesday, the 17th were not impressed, although again the idea is not bad. It's good that at least in the sequel, work was done on the bugs.

I can't say that this is a good horror movie for our time, but for the summer of 2012 it's very, very good. The vile scene, the plot in the style of "evidence" keeps you in suspense, but after the middle of the film you get tired of watching quickly enough. Now, probably, it's not worth watching, because there are a lot of both new horror movies and old ones. At your discretion. I put 5 stars because of pleasant childhood memories when you watch CDs in rainy weather in the granny's hall during the summer holidays. For some reason, from that moment on, the film does not get out of my head. .

Surprisingly, after the revision in 2024, the film seemed better than when first viewed. Some novels are even scary. I don't like the effect of the found film and the shaking camera. But without this effect, there would be no point in the film. The localization of the name is very annoying, and it was possible to translate VHS, fortunately few people did not know that it was in 2012.
