Olympus is calling: the trailer for "Percy Jackson and the Olympians" has been released

The first two episodes will air on December 20.

Disney+ has released a full trailer for "Percy Jackson and the Olympians", a TV series based on Rick Riordan's series of fantasy novels. The first two episodes of the project will premiere on December 20.

The series will tell about 12-year-old Percy Jackson, who learns that he is the son of the Greek god Poseidon. Percy is sent to a special camp for half-bloods, where other half-god children are sent to hone their unique abilities. Soon Percy gets his first assignment: with the help of his friends Annabeth, daughter of Athena, and satyr Grover, he must find the lightning bolts stolen from Zeus.

The main roles in the project were played by Walker Scobell, Leah Jeffries, and Aryan Simhadri. The show also stars Virginia Kull, Megan Mullally, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Lance Reddick.

Rick Riordan, author of the original Percy Jackson novels, was directly involved in the creation of the series: he acted as a writer and executive producer of the show along with Jonathan Steinberg ("Black Sails").

Let's be honest, Logan was great for an older Percy, but for the first movie, it was a failure. Percy is 12 years old in the first book, and Lerman didn't even pull 14-15

Выглядит интересно. Странно видеть Индуса в сериале посвященном греческим богам, ничего не имею против чтобы он был темнокожим, в Греции были чернокожие, я бы даже сказал это предпочтительнее, но не индус же боже,
Аннабет вообще теперь другая, у нас была Александра Даддарио, а теперь мы получили ЭТО. Новая актриса даже в трейлере переигрывает и вообще не подходит на эту роль.
Индуса стерплю, Аннабет наврятли

These books were for the older generation, who had already grown up, the time for the film adaptation of the entire series was clearly missed by 10-15 years, and the new generation is unlikely to be interested. Considering the success of other genres /series where provocative topics are raised more or just darker / horror - Euphoria, Wednesday, Sex Education, Very Strange Things, Ginny and Georgia, Elite + Korean TV series, as the popularity of kpop influences strongly. I think more kids have watched the Squid Game than something that is currently on Disney
