Watch the magical trailer for the fantasy series "The Spiderwick Chronicles"

Streaming service Roku presented the debut teaser trailer of the fantasy series "The Spiderwick Chronicles" — an adaptation of the book series of the same name by Tony DiTerlizzi and Holly Black.

The series will tell about 15-year-old twins Jared and Simon, as well as their sister Mallory, who together with their mother move from New York to the ancient family estate Spiderwick. Here, the boys not only learn family secrets, but also discover a fantastic world filled with magical creatures. And, it turns out, they need help.

The main roles in the series are played by Christian Slater, Joy Bryant, Noah Cottrell, Lyon Daniels, and Mychala Faith Lee.

The series was originally supposed to air on Disney+, but the streaming service dropped the show in order to cut costs — despite the fact that the series had already finished filming by then. The project was eventually bought out by Roku, which will show all eight episodes of "The Spiderwick Chronicles" on April 19.
