The series "The Spiderwick Chronicles" will be released after all: the project was bought by the service Roku
The series "The Spiderwick Chronicles" starring Christian Slater and Joy Bryant has found a new home. The rights to show the show acquired streaming service Roku, owned by Paramount Studios.
Initially, the series, based on the book series of the same name by Tony Diterlizzi and Holly Black, was to be released on Disney+. However, in late August, it was revealed that the streaming service had dropped the show, despite the fact that filming of "The Spiderwick Chronicles" had already wrapped.
The series will tell the story of the Grace family, who move from New York to the ancient ancestral estate of Spiderwick. There they learn family secrets, as well as discover the way into the fantastic world. All eight episodes of the project will be released on Roku next year.
