Robert Downey Jr. invites you into the world of espionage in the trailer for the TV series "The Sympathizer"

Max has unveiled the full trailer of the spy drama "The Sympathizer", based on Viet Thanh Nguyen's novel of the same name. Hoa Xuande of "Cowboy Bebop" fame plays the lead role in the project.

He plays a captain in the South Vietnamese army who flees to Los Angeles in the last days of the war. But his past does not leave him even in America, and the hero begins to secretly follow former fellow citizens and report on them to the Vietcong.

Together with Hoa Xuande in the series starred Fred Nguyen Khan, Toan Le, Sandra Oh, and Robert Downey Jr., who plays several characters at once, and also acts as an executive producer of the project. The showrunner, writer and director of "The Sympathizer" was Park Chan-wook — the director of "Oldboy".

The series will have a total of seven episodes. The first of them will be released on Max on April 14.
