The first horror anime in my memory. And I must say it's made much more impressively than Japanese horror films. The atmosphere is well done, I jumped in fright when I was patted on the shoulder))))) We are told three different stories, each of which is executed in its own way and with its own intent. Actually, I want to say that this is the first season of Mononoke and I liked it more. Of course, Mononoke is very original in the style of drawing and presentation, but the first season of Ayakashi was somehow simpler, and I also liked the story of the pharmacist better here. Anime is filled with Japanese mythology, their stylistics and art, and "Japanese sins." Still, the mentality imposes its own, so the common "Japanese sins" are not slightly different from the "Russians", I would not advise anyone to watch, this series is more likely for fans of Japan than for animeshnikov.

Your criticism would have been appropriate if this arch had not originally been positioned as, for example, a film adaptation of a play written in the 19th century that greatly influenced Japanese culture. It's like if you went to the theater to see Shakespeare, and then criticized the production as "everything is shit, everyone is stupid."

For those who came here for mysticism, skip the first two arcs and go to the last one (episodes 9-11). The first two are completely tied to unpleasant, not particularly logical characters and their drama, supernatural beings are not even on the second, but on the third plane.

For those who came here after Mononoke, the apothecary appears only in the last three episodes, here he is still young, courting women, selling porn and simultaneously bringing down demons. Dominates samurai with a bonus, even when tied down.

Damn, the drawing is even worse than the first story. Well, they were too lazy to work on the backgrounds. :(

@Штатив: Yomoshichi Sato and Oiwa's sister are also normal. The first one got involved in the whole thing by accident (he went, damn it, to the light, participated in a double suicide, and was also forced to take revenge), well, at first my sister just tried to live somehow, but in the end at least she was able to leave with dignity.

In general, they had fun, in the era of the samurai - someone angered you, killed him and you live on peacefully. If she wanted a man, she poisoned his wife and got a man.
