Overview
A samurai lord has bartered away his newborn son's organs to forty-eight demons in exchange for dominance on the battlefield. Yet, the abandoned infant survives thanks to a medicine man who equips him with primitive prosthetics—lethal ones with which the wronged son will use to hunt down the multitude of demons to reclaim his body one piece at a time, before confronting his father. On his journeys the young hero encounters an orphan who claims to be the greatest thief in Japan.

Once upon a time, I hoped that Tahomaru would still side with his brother and help him. And hooray, it happened, albeit very late. I just shed tears when Hyakkimaru couldn't kill him and they talked. Still, I am very sad that Tahomaru died, even though he infuriated me because he wanted to kill Hyakkimaru, I feel sorry for him.
Well, the end turned out to be more than fine. I am insanely glad that Hyakkimaru has remained himself, it's just incredible. He has come the hardest way and deserved a good end. Just being human.
