If you've read the book, it's better to skip this series. And so you can take a look. There is a funny CG and oak cast.

It's just a new remake of the old British TV series from '81. Nothing new has been added. The series itself is not bad, but only if you haven't read the book. They try to stuff entertainment and all kinds of nightmares into the cinema, and to the detriment of what the author wanted to show in the book. I would say that the film is based on the book rather than the book itself. It is an order of magnitude behind the film adaptation of Frank Herbert's "Dune" in terms of plot compliance. IMHO, first we watch a movie, then we read a book.

P.S. and even Jason Priestley didn't save the painting)

The development of the characters' affections is too rapid. Especially for girls: as soon as they met Bill and Joe, they were already for one mom and dad. It seems nice, but at the same time unnatural somehow.

I would say that the stories are closely related within the framework of two episodes of the series, but there are so many strange plot moves, everything is so incoherent and hurried that you simply do not believe in what is happening.
Triffids act as a background for a generally rather mediocre and banal post-up. Replace them with the same zombies and little will change. It feels like the authors don't really like the original book and filmed it purely for show.

There are such good film adaptations that you can safely watch and love them, even without ever hearing about the original source. And there are some so bad that without the original source, no one would care about them. This miniseries obviously belongs to the latter, and it's sad. Does not really lead Wyndham with film adaptations

It was an interesting series, but I often found myself cliched. I liked the story.
