The series is one of those that raise the bar and show a sample of a high-quality detective retro series. A well-crafted interesting plot, good casting, memorable music, but above all an unusually good and generous production, with attention to numerous details and scenes, costumes and props, to a multitude of seemingly unimportant details for the plot. A gorgeous stylish saturated picture. The creators obviously did not save money, the artists, decorators and costumers did a great job, the right lighting, extras and even the language.
And of course, David Suchet is very good, whose image (David Suchet took an extremely responsible approach to this role. He worked a lot on accent, intonation, and plasticity. And for good reason - I had fun myself and perfectly entertained the viewer) the amusingly mincing, burdensomely neat, eccentrically refined and old-fashioned foreign detective with a hilarious accent became the decoration, core and highlight of the series. Watching is fun and uplifting. Poirot's assistant Captain Hastings added humor and emphasized the defiant "un-Englishness" of Poirot, the seasons became sadder without him. However, in full accordance with the original stories of Agatha Christie, from which incredibly complicated crimes are inherited.
I believe that this series is the best film adaptation of Poirot's works to date. I recommend it to everyone, and I highly recommend it to fans of old classic detective stories.
The language is stylized according to time, they speak very well and clearly, especially with subtitles. Poirot's accent, mistakes and intonations are a separate gift and a very important component. You must watch it with the original sound!

@7kozlov: I 100% agree with the viewing in the original. In fact, a school course is enough to understand 90% of the dialogues. Moreover, the accent of the main character allows you to hear the word the way I would have pronounced it myself in school years. Well, subtitles even in English solve the problem of understanding dialogues completely!

The series is just great, but I still recommend reading the books.

Compared to the film adaptation of Miss Marple, heaven and earth. How many unnecessary things were invented there, from which Agatha Christie would turn over in her coffin (take at least the lesbian relationships introduced for no reason), then in this series everything is filmed according to the canon, 10 out of 10

I'm glad that I decided to refresh my childhood memories and watch it in full. Aesthetics in every frame!
50 minutes flew by unnoticed, but David Suchet as Poirot is a separate kind of beauty.

- there's a Frenchman here!
- No, no, not some Frenchman, but some Belgian!
