@Roadblock: I don't think she sealed them tightly. Most likely, there was a gap through which the spores could pass. However, due to Scully's location relative to this gap, they would not have been able to get into her body.
Somehow this episode is very similar to "Ice" from the first season, but it's still interesting to watch, and the ending is in the best traditions of the series.
Scully returned to the ranks so quickly!) This episode reminds me of the series "Ice". But that one was a little more interesting, somehow events take a long time here... but it's still great and the ending is on top.
Yes, yes, somehow quickly into service, without any where there was etc. Maybe it's for the best. But, they notably copied the "ice". And Shawnee Smith is playing the same Amanda from the Saw. He's about to turn the corner to Kramer
I think that's her nature and her role in the team. They complement each other perfectly with Mulder. He is ready to consider all the most improbable explanations, she will test the strength of any version from the point of view of science. If they were both like Mulder, they would have turned into a team of conspiracy theorists)
A few unclear points. If the fungus was forcing new people to infect, why did the Chinese run away instead of spraying spores on Mulder and Scully? And why did Trepkas kill the mustachioed doctor? He had just arrived and was not infected, while he did not touch Mulder and Scully, although they were in contact with the infected.
@Asmodian: not Chinese, but Japanese by origin, judging by the surname. With regard to his actions, most likely there is something left of a man in him, and in order not to endanger others, he ran away far away. But the woman could not fully control herself and therefore attacked Scully. But I honestly can't explain Trepkos's actions myself, somehow he was too selective with his victims, did not touch Mulder, and eliminated others on the move, we'll write off the script jamb.
