On the one hand, the series is atmospheric, but on the other hand, you feel deceived at the end, when you wait forty minutes: what is the mystery? What's supernatural about that? And to you, they say, the moral of this fable is this: real maniacs are among us, and they are much scarier than ISC files.
At first, my head was spinning "I don't believe it! I don't believe it and that's it. Why would Scully, who has already experienced so much, be so afraid of some nonsense?" (the explanation given for this in the series did not suit me) Well, then, when I realized that it was necessary to create maximum tension - oh, Scully was so afraid the whole series, and now she fell into the clutches of the object of her fear, mommy, how scary it is for her now - she still forgave the screenwriters such a move, because it turned out to be justified.
What a terrible episode. Although I really liked it, so far it is one of my favorite and best episodes for me. But that dream of Scully's, where she supposedly saw her corpse... Horror.
tears welled up and goosebumps ran down my body by the end of the episode, when Mulder broke into the criminal's house with the words FEDERAL AGENTS, HANDS UP
It feels like a fetishist is playing Crispin Glover. Therefore, I persistently heard and saw Crispin exclusively throughout the series. How good he would be in this role. Eh.
I liked the series in terms of revealing and presenting the characters. This creepy well-groomed fetishist, his strange way of talking, frightening calmness, not a single emotion on his face. Regarding the agents, what always made me hold my breath when watching episodes is the way Mulder talks to Scully in a soft and very quiet voice, not only in this episode. And yes, here we also see Scully not as a strong woman and a wonderful agent, but also as a living person with her own feelings and emotions. Crime series are now making robots out of gg without flaws and complexes.
P.S. Scully is especially charming in this series, you just can't take your eyes off
@alyonasiy: dada, I was especially amused by the wordplay of "my partner"! It is already unclear whether she is talking about her partner, or about her young man :))
Before going to bed, of course, tin... Xs how to fall asleep now... Since childhood, I have loved the series for its mysticism and fiction. But it's great that the series shows exactly the FBI agents. Yes, they are in the X-Files department, but anything can happen. And we have to unravel various cases. Which do not always lead to the Truth. The series is strong... Interestingly, 25 years later, the series still looks great. Sometimes it's even much better than some modern nonsense of this genre. In the end, you are sincerely glad that Scully is saved, even though you understand that there are several seasons ahead ... I agree that sometimes a person is worse than any monster... It's creepy to imagine that such people live in a society ... P.S. I'm writing such a long text, because something doesn't work out 🤣
@eligio: I agree! I also like the series where the crimes are not related to UFOs and all sorts of different paranormal. This is exactly what I was waiting for when I started watching the series, and then it turned out that the green men were not just Mulder's wild fantasy..XD No, UFOs are also cool and interesting, but they can't find exactly such cases every time :)
Many wrote that the series resembles something else, but, in my opinion, it was a clear homage to the "Silence of the Lambs". Especially considering that Scully's character is based on Starling.

- You'll need me there.
- Always, Scully.
