I really liked how Arthur, without hesitation, rushed to defend Merlin when he decided to confess.

If Arthur believed that Gwen had no evil intentions, even if she used magic, then why did he drag her and the guards to Uther? He knew what his father thought of magicians, and that 100% of the girl was on the bonfire. This scene is when Merlin decided to confess, and Guy and Arthur stupidly "he's sick, he's in love, don't believe him!" Just a Dream Team :D

Actually, Arthur stepped in, of course, when he dragged Gwen straight to Uther, but I can understand why he did it. People are dying all around, confusion is going on, and Gwen and her father are the only straw. So he immediately did what he thought he should do, and only then turned on his brain.

Arthur's interaction with Merlin is simply a masterpiece x_x I am so glad that already in the second series Merlin put aside his dislike and was sincerely happy for Arthur's victory in the tournament, and then Arthur so sweetly rescued Merlin from a painful demise:zz Awesome bromance.
