It seems like the series is based on real events, about real, real people, and because of this you know perfectly well how they ended up there, but nevertheless the whole series keeps you in such suspense. It's amazing!
I am so sad for Miss Walker, she has just begun to blossom, she has just begun to enjoy life, when tragic news comes again. It is not surprising that she has such a character and behavior, she does not have time to cope with one tragedy, as the next one immediately happens. I was worried about Eugenie when Lister found out about her pregnancy. I'm glad Ann decided not to fire her after all. And I'm glad for Thomas, although it's still unclear how he will finally get out of this situation, I don't think he will get away with everything so quickly and easily. Perhaps in the six months that the contract will be with him, he will be able to come up with something.
The coal business turned out to be even more disgusting than one might have thought. It's nice to see that the creators of the series are not shy about showing the times as they were, with a twelve-hour working day, with child labor, with servants who have their own worries and problems, and not just with the aristocracy in silks.
The Rawson family is something with something. These sisters' stares when the fact of Miss Lister and Miss Walker's closeness was revealed, the eccentric mother of the Rawson brothers (who definitely needs more screen time!), Christopher, trying in vain to get this ill-fated acre of coal. Amazing.
Each episode is getting better and better. It's a shame if there really are only 8 of them.
Poor Walker. That's how it works: victims of violence are very often afraid to tell someone, considering themselves guilty. When Lister finally looked at the camera with her "I don't know yet", I was really scared. The series was just sparking with tension.
The end of the episode radically changed my attitude towards Miss Walker, before that I didn't really like her, especially against the background of Miss Lister. And then I even really began to sympathize with her.
As for Eugenie, it's a pity that everything turned out that way, I was really upset that the wedding was canceled, I feel sorry for the peasant (I still can't learn his name :( ), it seems that he really is in love with her.
But about that guy and what he did to his father, it's incredibly sad that he had to take such a terrible step, no matter what the reasons were and no matter what kind of creature his dad was, he still killed a man, and I don't think his story will end eventually. (I hope I'm still wrong, and he'll be fine))
In general, I'm worried about the fate of each character, the story keeps me in suspense, and in general, the series turns out to be surprisingly high-quality. If there are only 4 episodes left, I'm sure they will be at the level of the past or even higher)
@doruma: Unfortunately, there is no one to tell him that yet. And it will be very easy for him to break down because of all this if he does not find some kind of support to get through it.
When you know that Lister in her diaries called sex a “trip to Italy,” the phrase “I've been several times [in Italy], and I've never once felt the least bit queasy” and the grins after it take on a new meaning
another great episode, I don't notice at all how the whole hour has flown by! Poor little Walker. This difficult topic will never cease to be relevant, at all times.
I like Papa Lister. A very sensible man, with an uncluttered brain. I am glad that he supports both daughters, despite the fact that they are both peculiar And I liked the scene of Anne's conversation with her sister.
If in the first episodes I admired only Ann Lister, now I'm fascinated by Ann Walker. Now I see what Ann saw in her. And when she wrote her SHIT to ME in her diary, I just sobbed excitedly.
The violence revealed is very strong, and Ann's final words "I haven't decided yet" give me goosebumps.
I hope the girl doesn't find human bones or anything like that in the pigsty. It's unlikely that everything will go so smoothly. And it's a pity for the guy, he saved the family. The best series so far. Finally, the feelings and characters of both Anns were allowed to open up.
на моменте с "maybe miss Walker will let miss Lister dip into her purse. whatever else she's been letting her dip into. so sorry, ladies" остановила серию, чтобы прохохотаться.
