I would say that the series is a satire of classic detective stories, but the characters behave exactly the same as in regular series. That's the problem, it's not clear that the characters are intentionally acting stupidly for the sake of satire, because they've behaved just as stupidly before. Another point is, okay, the series makes fun of the detective's cliches, but resolves the situation with exactly the same cliche. How predictable and formulaic was the exposure of Double Trouble. And, my God, why did he reveal himself as a shapeshifter? It was such a trump card up his sleeve. Anyway, he could try to tell a tearful story that the Horde captured Flutterina's parents and forced them to spy. After all, the princesses knew absolutely nothing about Double Trouble, how exactly he was spying and what he was doing. Double Trouble was the one who told the whole story, although it's usually the detective who exposes the criminal and explains his actions. Therefore, I believe that even if they hadn't believed Flutterina's tearful story about being forced to betray her and put her in prison, Double Trouble would have had a trump card up his sleeve to deceive the guards. He could just pretend to be one of the princesses later and tell the guards that Flutterina had run away, leaving him here. But no, we have a twist in the spirit of the Guardians here, only there this twist made sense, since the villain had already achieved the final goal, but here the capture of the kingdom of Mermista is not like that. It's just one of the steps.

@Seirei: And yet, we are told that the capture of the kingdom of Mermista is important, as it gives us free access to the sea, but it has never been shown to us that there are important objects in or near the sea, the rest of the kingdoms shown are not even on the shore. The only possible advantage is that now it will be possible to get to Brightmoon not only through the Whispering Forest, but also by sea. Probably, after all, the disposition of the parties was not really explained to us so that we could say something. Now both the Entrapta kingdom and the Mermists have been captured. There are still the kingdoms of Frosty, although it is located somewhere in the mountains, and the kingdom of Perfuma, which is difficult to call a kingdom, looks more like a village.
In general, my main complaint is that the audience is not really explained what is important and why, so it is difficult for them to feel the significance of the moment at the end.
Well, obviously, we are waiting for the appearance of the Hord Prime troops at the end of the season.

@Seirei: Capturing the kingdom of Rusalina may be important as the idea of the "I want to break all the princesses and I'll do anything for it" fix, that is, a way to demoralize the enemy)

@Seirei: What's the point of double trouble trying to get out? The horde's plan is fulfilled, there is nothing to defend. And it's not that they're deeply devoted to the horde and its mission; they're mostly interested in money, chaos, and theatrics-how can you turn down the opportunity to read the last monologue and see what kind of commotion it will cause?
+ I don't think they could get out of prison by shapeshifting. I assume that the Glimmer magic rune doesn't care what its prisoners look like.

It turned out to be a very intriguing beginning, the mermaid knows how to intrigue))
The series was pleased with detective fragments))
But the ending made me sad:(

Did Adora have an inflammation of the cunning as a child, and she had it surgically removed, like appendicitis? Is that why she's straight as a stick now? For a man who showed great promise as the future commander of the Horde, she has a surprisingly low ability to build at least some strategic maneuvers. And again, the Witch of Shadows helps them develop a strategy. He and Katra are the only strategists in the series sorry gspd.

@Raventree: That's one of the character's problems. Adora doesn't look like a leader at all. She does not work well in a team, does not know how to plan, does not show any noticeable qualities at all, except for combat. And they wanted to make Adora the captain of the Horde? As a fighter, Adora may be good, but there are big problems with everything else. Of course, you can give the example of Scorpio, which can also be silly and so on. But Scorpia could have been made captain of the Horde for propaganda purposes, they say, the princess is in the service of the Horde, and the kingdom of Scorpia handed over her runestone to the Horde, which was also useful to the latter. So I can understand why Scorpia became captain, but Adora has a feeling that the Witch of Shadows just arranged it.

@Seirei: not out of fraud, but rather out of love) it seems to me that the Witch of Shadows could not quite objectively assess the qualities of Adora, since she raised her and treated her like a daughter. In principle, Adora as a team player is not so lost, and if you look at the flashbacks, then she constantly strives to rally their entire group, prevent Katra from quarreling with Lonnie, Kyle and the rest, and even seems to be making some progress, but imho, this is objectively not enough for her to be positioned. as a super valuable Horde commander in the future. Although, perhaps, I didn't get the right impression about her value to them.

Finally, the voice of reason of this series is Rusalina! At least someone realized that there was a rat in the castle, otherwise there was a nursery group just like a kindergarten.

It was fun watching the Shooter 's crazy 😅🤪 And Rusalina is just wow, especially the hunch about the witch of shadows, that she is definitely not a spy.

It was only in this episode that I realized that Shadow Weaver and Eclipsa (Star vs the Forces of Evil) are super similar. Both are evil witches who live in a palace in captivity, but in fact they drive teas, grow a garden, go wherever they want, and then help the main characters 😲😲😲
