Один - немолодой, впервые осужденный школьный учитель, который мучается чувством вины за свое преступление и новым гнусным и агрессивным окружением. Второй - опытный и справедливый тюремный надзиратель, вынужденный выбирать между своим долгом и безопасностью семьи.
Грустный и тяжелый рассказ о вине и прощении, наказании и раскаянии, о несовершенстве тюремной системы, о негативном влиянии, которое тюрьма оказывает на всех, кто проходит через нее, о том, как трудно сохранить себя, оказавшись под чрезвычайным давлением. Сделано крайне реалистично, с верным балансом напряженного, скорбного и трогательного, жестокости, отчаяния и надежды. В самую меру, не пережимают. Буднично и правдиво.
Великолепно поставлено, хороший монтаж, отличный темп. Правильная сероватая гамма. Прекрасно играют, особенно исполнители двух главных ролей. Все очень натурально, сдержанно, экономно и чрезвычайно выразительно при этом.
Получилась короткая, точная и довольно удручающая тюремная драма, мощная, эффектная, ярко показывающая ключевые пороки традиционной пенитенциарной системы и заставляющая задуматься о многих вопросах, пусть далеко не новых, но пока не получивших ясных и однозначных ответов.
Язык. Говорят иногда довольно быстро, не всегда разборчиво, с очень заметными акцентами, сленгом. Вполне соответственно контингенту и географии, даже учитель (английского!) отнюдь не образец правильной речи. Субтитры порой весьма кстати.
