That's great! I burst into tears at the moment of the special show. After all, so much effort has been invested, so much time, so many experiences! They literally fought for every scene. I am one of those happy people who did not watch the movie, but read the book and, I think, after the series, watching the movie will be with the most complete "immersion". Many thanks to the creators of the series, as if I myself participated in the filming of "The Godfather"!
@Xena96: I'm one of those who watched the movie and always considered it a masterpiece. But after learning about the upcoming series, I read the book and reviewed the film. How many were cut out there. Once again you understand the power of the book. Good luck to you ✊
@Xena96: on the contrary, I was getting high from understanding what it was all about, I watched it not so long ago, and I also recently watched Chinatown and yelled that it was a really confusing film about water rights))
Great show. Great actors. Now I have a much better understanding of what exactly a producer does in filmmaking. And a really great book and movie, but the book, as it happens, is better)
Lapidus was directly surprised in this series - he turned from a finished asshole into a normal person. And I was glad to see Evans just like the guys, it's very cool.
Even everything has become quite exaggerated. And Hanks is so formulaic and fake, well, however, as usual he plays. It is necessary to somehow show the characters more subtly.
@Aprillian: Yes, Lapidus is a caricature character here. Mr. Modern Producer. "Cut the film so that there are more sessions. People need simple stories. Action movies, comedies. I don't understand it, take it away." But as the authors said in the afterword: Lapidus is a collective image of all those who were against the film. But so much was hung on the antagonist in one episode that he was slightly flattened. Too much, I agree. But you can still believe that a person came from a completely different field of business and is trying to do everything as he is used to. And cinema is a creative thing, even though it brings money. It's good that his correction was shown at the end. They didn't make a complete fool. Besides, there are a lot of them in Hollywood now, they may be offended)
Bob Evans in the series is amazing. What a personal arch he has. Almost a separate film. A success story, a fall and a rebirth. Cinematography works amazingly, in the series about the filming of The Godfather, they managed to tell the story of the director of Paramount Studio in between. Yes, so much for the soul took. And it would seem that a corporate big shot, such, usually, is not a pity.
The actor who played the screenwriter of "Paper Moon" is wildly similar to the actor who played Frank Sinatra. At first I thought that they took one actor for two roles.
During the episode, I Google all the mentioned movies to be in context. By the way, the movie that Evans watched is "The Odd Couple" 1967. I barely found it by searching for pictures)
WTF?
