Yes, there are power outages due to the heat, more often due to forest fires or heavy rains (rare, but accurate). Transmission lines are broken, transformers are out of order, and so on. The state is very large, like a large country, the distances are long, the lines are outdated in many places, this is a normal living process. Everything is gradually improving, but so far - yes, it happens.. and most importantly, I want to note that +42 is in different regions and feels different.
In my homeland, I was also not afraid of + 40, we lived without air conditioners, and in Cali it is much more serious, if heat wave has abnormal temperatures over 40 for several days, then it is difficult to breathe, it is the air quality that deteriorates greatly.
