4 god (spirit) of the mountains, for each side of the world. 4 artefact items with a piece of the original god of the mountains. At first I thought who is the 4th god... In the first season, there was a governor, a Moon Bear. He's a former god of the mountain, does that count? As if Lee Yong is also a former, and Mu Yong and Hong Joo have left the mountains... However, the identity of the 4 gods no longer matters, since all 4 artifacts are already known, and only the 2nd of the 4 gods that we know (former or current) owned artifacts...
In the first season in episode 6, when the Governor recaptured Li Yong's sword with the help of a mirror, there is a replica from Li Yong:
- The mirror of the moon? Are you trying to kill a person with one of the four gems of the four mountain spirits intended to protect all creations?

Hong Joo is just a goddess! Literally and figuratively))) The actress is gorgeous, the heroine is on break. Jae Yu is a cute guy, devoted to his mistress, helping out friends. I am very grateful to the creators that they kept him alive. When he was dying, she cried with Hong Joo.
Mu Yong is also an interesting character, ambiguous, contradictory. He was stupid and naive in places, but you can understand him. I am glad that in the end he embarked on the path of goodness and his vocation. I'm glad they didn't leak it, but left it alive. However, he is now in a foreign era and it is unclear how he will "not influence" subsequent events.
Of the new heroes, I also want to single out the chief of the demon mercenaries. I don't understand why take such a gorgeous charismatic actor if his character is killed in a couple of minutes? That he was quickly frozen in the hotel, that he was allowed to barbecue in prison. I wanted more of his participation, a very cool actor.
Sung Joo and Mu Yong's friendship is so sweet, I even shed tears when they exchanged shoes. It would be great if they found each other in 2023.
The plot of the season itself was not even as important as it was important to show the relationship of the characters.
The farewell of Yong and the Wound is in the very heart. Going back to the world where there is no Wound, and it is not 100% known that he will be reborn, was painful for Yong. And for me, I just choked on tears at their farewell.
It was nice to see Ji Ah, it's a pity that the actress did not participate in the season.
What was missing for me:
- did you explain why Eun Ho and Yuri have the same face
- there was no reunion of Sung Joo and Yuri
Well, that's if you just take the finale without a possible season 3. And now let's talk about what I didn't understand.
It all comes down to the phrase of the Taliban that what is happening because of Yong in 1938 will not change the future in any way, that Lee Yong is a guest and all that. But then the whole logic of the series collapses like a house of cards.
.. reincarnation. One of the main themes of the series.
So the purpose of his journey is to return the stone that he did. Not to change the future. The contract he signed with the Old Lady will allow the Wound from 2020 to reincarnate. We're just used to the tradition of changing the future in the past, but not here.
And since Ran became a complete fox in 1938, then there are two options:
1. This is just an alternative branch of events.
2. Since 1938, Ran will die and be reborn into the one that was in the first season. As already reported, reincarnation is random in itself. Then Ran from 2020 may have already been reborn with memories before 1938. The old lady with her all-seeing eyes may have known the fate of the Wound and therefore said that Lee Yong would not change anything.
Well, or is it a plot hole that I'm trying to justify?
1. I wrote about it, if this is an alternative, then it was worth voicing it in the drama, no questions would arise.
2. It is excluded, because in one of the episodes, it seems, with a troll, the Wound was told that he had 62 years left to live. Besides, if Ran had died and been reborn, Li Yong would probably have known about it. And then Ran would not remember anything about Yong betraying him, etc. So yes, it looks like an attempt to justify a plot hole.
The goal to return the stone, and not to change the future, is of course good, but with the fact that Yong and the company have screwed up, achieving this goal in the second season, it is impossible to maintain the logic of the canon of the first season.
If by the arrival of En in 1938 they generate a new branch of parallel reality, then there is no question. That is, we have an original outcome with the canon of the first season and in parallel with it there is also a canon in which Yeon and Ran reunite in 1938 and then everything goes super well, no one resurrects them, but Yeon will just find Ji Ah, and they will fall in love with each other.
But if not, then a lot of questions arise and the logic breaks down. Yes, Yong may be a guest in the era, but everyone else is not. Ran has met love, he is happy with In Hee. As I understand it, this will encourage him to a different lifestyle (the gang is already working there). Yong from 1938 came to him, he has a great motivation to be with his brother - he knows that Ji Ah will return in the future. WHAT could possibly go wrong for Ran to become a cold and resentful boy again? I have only two options:
1. Yong from 1938 will do something terrible, which will cause In Hee to suffer/die
2. Imugi will be resurrected by someone else, not Ran, the events of the first season will be similar, Ran will sacrifice himself for his brother (perhaps Imugi will kill In Hee in 2020)
These options may well be beaten in season 3, or come up with other logical options, but at the moment, when the fate of season 3 is not known, the question remains open.
Besides, Hong Joo's storyline also changed when Mu Yong stayed in 1938 and Lee Yong came to Miyonggak. Of course, they didn't show us what was going on in 2023, we only know that Lee Yong and Ji Ah were reunited (although I thought he would approach her right now, and she was like, "Who else are you?"). Who knows how events have not "changed" there yet.
Then yes, all the changes seem to have happened, but unchanged points of time and space (sorry, this is a different fandom...) they will remain untouched.
But that's just the way we think. And the creators of the drama can generally bolt on all this and not explain anything in any way.
What about the deity who stole the eyes? Not disclosed? So we're waiting for the third season?

Despite the fact that I definitely liked the first season, the party in 1938 is a representative of the exclusion category for usually figgy sequels. Here, the main gestalts were closed and gave the audience a lot of comedic, heroic, romantic, friendly, family and such happy moments! I really liked this attraction of emotions with cheerful coolness and I am incredibly glad that the characters returned to their time and finally showed us Ena and GIA (well, I don't understand people who don't have enough chemistry - they are such beads together, I can't straight). I do not have any worries about the fate of the characters we know, if Talipa initially stated that the events of the past would not change the future, then there is no point in worrying about her at all. If there is no third season with the capture of the original spirit, then I will not be upset at all, because the ending here suits me in all respects.
There will also be a fly in the ointment - I have the impression that they originally planned to shoot 16 episodes, because so crumpling up the story and sticking the finales of all the plot branches in some 20 minutes is a very, very dubious decision to find profit. As a result, in a matter of minutes, the main antagonist was simply poked with a finger, which was poked in the viewer's face all season. In principle, I think that all the villains are mercilessly merged. In the finale, some hitherto unseen chakra of martiality opened up for Yong and this brought down the degree of delight a little.
Imho, but how crookedly Muen's character was presented to us, that his imaginary death touches much less the superemotional almost-suicide of the most faithful and good boy Jiu (give me a paw))). Well, really, JiyU revealed himself for the whole season only with a minute-long flashback of a meeting with HonGju, but how much more does this put pressure on tears than absolutely incomprehensible dancing with MUEN's tambourine.
I also consider the love line with a mermaid to be weak, as I wrote earlier. I just don't believe in Rana's feelings.
I didn't really like Hongju, but her transformation is the most striking of the whole caste.
