Thanks for the comeback, it was very nice and amazing to see Kirsten and Amy again, and even such a mimic
The season seemed to me on a par with the first, a cool investigation. The work of these two women from a distance has a special atmosphere. Unusual and effective. The only thing is, at some point I got confused about the names of minor characters, it would be better to post all the episodes at once, but these are already problems of my memory😂
If the creators have any more ideas, I will be very glad to see them!
I thought all season that one of them would be killed, they kept me in suspense until the end. Seasons 1 and 2 are so different, but both are interesting in their own way.
A good season, of course, is not without any convenient coincidences for the development of the plot, but it was made with intrigue and important issues, especially for the present time.
Another fantastic story. Two CIVILIAN detectives investigate crimes committed in a department of the Ministry of Defense (in the first season at a military facility - a nuclear submarine), that is, outside their jurisdiction. Yes, they simply had no legal right to investigate, because there are special structures in the Ministry of Defense for this. They uncover an international political conspiracy and prevent a war in the Middle East. Now imagine how the series would look if these two heroines were MILITARY investigators on particularly important cases from some British Investigative Committee under the Ministry of Defense? It's completely different and more realistic.
Kirsten was still hurt, how many times she was carried away, but still everyone was worried for a reason. The truth won, Amy won. I would really like to have such victories in my life.
It's a good season, it keeps you in suspense, especially the endings of each episode. Russell began to suspect for some reason almost from the very beginning. p.s. poor pregnant Kirsten suffered no less than Amy, but the good thing is that it ends well.
The main soldier, who fancied himself the Lord God and decided to save old Britain from the economic crisis, was to blame for everything. In principle, the handsome Russell can be understood with a stretch: she is a military woman, after all, over the years of service, the installation has already been hammered into her at the subconscious level to unquestioningly follow the orders of her superiors, and Granger, with his insane plan to drag the country into war, was just at the very top. If you look at it that way, she was just doing her job well, sparing neither herself nor others. Amy in the end, well, purely James Bond in female form sorted everything out and saved everyone)) Kirsten ran into trouble all season and still caught a bullet at the finish line (but even fleeing from the man who shot at her, she did not forget to fasten her seat belt in the car, that's what I understand - force of habit). Thank heavens everything worked out, and in the end Detective Silva's family was finally happily reunited. I would like to watch them in the third season, but I do not even know where else they can be thrown in the plot to justify the name of the series.
The main feature of the first season that hooked me was that it was a claustrophobic "closed " detective. A locked space (a submarine), a limited number of people, and one of them is a criminal. Classics of the genre in a modern way. It was COOL, for that I watched and recommended Vigil. And in the second season, for some reason, they decided to abandon this and took off "just " detective? Why??? There are few places on the planet where our clever Detective Silva could be thrown! Alas, the police story of the second season upset me.
As noted above, there are a lot of cliches (oooh, the evil Middle East, oooh, an old soldier who decided to save the crown), a lot of flat minor characters whose names you can't even mention; this all greatly blurs the impression.
In the same Homeland, where everything also revolved around international politics, the stakes were higher and the conflations between the characters were stronger. And here everything is going so well, and the pregnant cutie Kirsten is completely understanding, and the daughter is a darling, and the boss is understanding, and the schoolboy from MI5 took up his mind and switched to the side of good, and they all lived happily ever after. EEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
Yes, the second one is weaker, there is no intimacy, riddles. For me, everything read like that, starting with the same gays and ending with the main villains. No plot twist surprised me. Interesting, but not that.
I liked the first season more, in the 1st there is an unusual location, after all, it is not every day that we see an investigation on a submarine, in the second everything is more calm. And a similar topic has been raised more than once. In the 2nd, the endings of the episodes in season 1, in my opinion, were more powerful, I just wanted to start watching the next one faster, somehow there was no such intensity. But in season 2, the motives of all the characters are spelled out more clearly and clearly, for what and why. And the final dialogue is of course amazing!!! Your soldiers may not participate in their war, but this year you will sell them weapons worth 800 million pounds. With this money, you will be able to finance schools and hospitals. And in the hospital on the border with Sujan, schoolchildren will continue to enroll. Smile Marshal, you've won....
