It's a shame that the creators went the easiest way: they replaced the actor with the role of Octavian as soon as his place and function in the plot changed. Indeed, why bother and try to ensure that the former shy, naive idealistic boy grows into a strong, confident emperor, if you can just take a ready-made one. All the slave scenes are heartbreaking...
Besides, the old actor had all the abilities to transform himself. He played very well, I liked watching him. I was upset that now Octavian will be played by another, I would even say a little disappointed🙁
If the first season still tried to adhere to historical facts and authenticity in the behavior of the characters, then the directors and screenwriters were completely stupid and decided to lie outright. "Gentlemen, we did a great job, we saved the republic." - how could Octavian say that? But nothing is impossible in the minds of American screenwriters.
@dandru31: what kind of historicity can we talk about when we talk about TV series/films made for the general public for the purpose of entertainment? If you want a real story, then read monographs and articles by scientists, not watch TV series :-)
This is a work of art, shot "based on motives" and then with a stretch. If you build your expectations adequately, you will not have to put any crosses
It's good that they changed the actor who played Octavian, because the previous actor probably couldn't have played such a bastard because of his appearance 😡
Lucius could have left the boy there with the slaves, so that he would not have to suffer seeing him every day and so that he would not have to kill. Or give it to someone decent in the city
