s07e02 — Here We Go Again

Steve and Kelly are getting a lot of attention in this episode. I really love their friendship! Steve, of course, is an asshole, but such a "skeleton in the closet" is not surprising. To remember at least how he started a rumor about Brenda back in season 4... It's good that the guy has clearly grown wiser over the years. It's growing before our eyes...

But I was very surprised by this series. Maybe because, unlike the writers, I remember the beginning of the series quite well. And it said that Steve and Kelly HAD BEEN DATING for more than two days, and not just slept together, but now everything is presented as if they accidentally had sex and ciao, goodbye. And the fact that Steve allegedly spread rumors about Kelly is clearly just invented and sewn with white thread. He apologized to her so many times and never mentioned it, even at the same ball. Moreover, earlier Kelly herself said that rumors about her were spread by an asshole from Alpha, who forced her to have sex and was her first man (I don't remember, John Sears and she eventually returned to him again or another). In short, I don't believe it.
By the way, Steve's speech to the brothers was so cloying and affected, as if he was impersonating it specifically for Claire.
I don't understand either Donna, who, in front of her supposedly boyfriend David, openly flirts with another and clearly gives him hope, while emphasizing "What is this??", or the fact that she and David eventually broke up. I am very disappointed. But Brandon and Kelly are being talked about over and over, over and over...

I don't understand why it was necessary to bring Donna and David together again, so that two episodes later they would be divorced again.
