I've always been killed by this cliche in American movies - the girl didn't go to the ball, sits in dirty pajamas watching a movie, and then she's - oh, I have to go too! And here she is at the dance, with her hair and makeup on. Yes, I would have spent at least 2 hours just getting ready, plus the road...I would have arrived by now, when the cleaner was twirling with a mop.
