Thus, to find out the reason for such a bastard character of Valory - tu much.

@Oliverell22: She's not such a bastard of a character. At least she never pretended to be a good girl, like Kelly, the eternal poor thing. Kelly has done no better many times, but she is always so good for everyone, everyone always protects her, and Val often had to stand up for herself, many times she repented and acted according to her conscience, but in the end she is still a negative character in the eyes of everyone, and Kelly for some reason is positive. Kelly is much more bitchy and cunning in fact. It was just easier for her, she had everything, and compared to Val, Kelly's problems were far–fetched trifles. Take, for example, how Kelly condemned Val for pot, and then she snorted cocaine by the kilos, because, you see, Daddy did not meet expectations. And then what should Val have done after what happened to her? Get on a needle? Take my own life? She is much stronger and much more honest. Or how Kelly is always rushing between guys. If she's with Brendan, she needs Dylan, if she's with Dylan, she needs Brendan, or she's dating someone, but she's jealous of both Brendan and Dylan. She needs everything at once. Kelly is the most annoying character in the series.
And here's another strange thing: the writers seem to be confused in their own plot intricacies, because when Val first appeared in the series, she loved dad very much and suffered because of the loss. It lasted for several seasons, on this basis they got together with David and suddenly the screenwriters give out such a feint and all for the sake of another drama. In my opinion, it is very far-fetched. It was enough to limit her to the trauma of losing her parent.

@day_dreamer: That Kelly is a spoiled fool,
And the fact that Val was less lucky in life does not make her character any less of a bastard.
And what Val went through with her father, with weed, and with anything else does not detract from her vindictiveness.
It's very simple. The world is not divided into black and white. You can be a bitch with a guy who dumped you, but save a friend or kittens. You can box and collect teddy bears.
Or how to offend one, but help the other. Or go along with your feelings and hurt your friends. and then perform a feat for them. Life has many more shades. And the characters too.

@Oliverell22: as many people as there are opinions, I understand everything. :) And I don't justify Val in everything at all, I didn't like many of her actions. I guess I just like a person who doesn't hide his bitchiness better than someone who hides behind a mask of a sweetheart, but he is essentially the same.

@Oliverell22: and I really agree about Valerie and Kelly. Yes, Valerie came to Beverly Hills with the intention of sneezing at everyone and success awaits you in life, and she did so. And yes, basically everyone was very nice to her and fussed over her and took care of her, especially the Walshes, but she lived as she wanted and didn't think about anyone. It turned out for her, but somehow strangely. Instead of the whole company seeing how she acts and how she treats them, for some reason only Kelly saw it, and the rest shrugged their shoulders and continued to communicate as if nothing had happened. And Kelly was very wary of Val in the beginning, and she didn't find fault in vain.
Then Valerie invited her friend, she wanted to make friends with everyone and it turned out. And from about this moment on, everything changes exactly the opposite. Valerie goes out of her way to make friends with Kelly, she is constantly the one who takes the first steps, she is the one who behaves nobly, forgives, is ready to forget the past, etc., and Kelly is stuck with a horn, it is unclear why she does not want to. Despite the fact that Valerie didn't do anything particularly bad to her personally. I don't think Valerie has ever been with guys because Kelly liked them. But that's how Kelly ran after Tom.
And yes, Kelly does do shit sometimes, but everyone loves her very much. For example, she stole her best friend's boyfriend. Then she started hanging out with Brandon while she was with Dylan, almost got them into a fight and also pretended to be a noble fool, saying that I did everything to save your friendship, how could I otherwise. She's always dynamiting them herself, and then she gets into their relationship, gets jealous, can't calm down.

@Oliverell22: And now, of course, the apogee of just her exploits. I was with Dylan -- I wanted to go to Brandon, OK. She was dating Brandon, the problems just started - here she already wants to go to Dylan, he is her real destiny, Brandon is on her side. She dumped Brandon. As soon as Dylan gets married, she needs him urgently. I hung around Brandon while he was with Susan, almost slept with him, but no. It hasn't been a series since then, I found out that Dylan is with Brenda -- that's it, even if Dylan was with me, she urgently needs him again. Oh, well, there's no Dylan, so Brandon will do, now again he can't calm down that he's with Tracy, now Brandon is her true love. And as soon as Valerie does something, she notices a speck in her eye right away, just not visible behind her.
I've always treated Kelly normally, even when she was screwing with Dylan, but for the last couple of seasons she's just like a red rag, just appears in the frame, immediately begins to feel sick from her bastard behavior in fact, but on her face there is an expression of forced goodness, how unhappy she is all the time, something is always happening to her.

Why did it seem to me that the jeweler was Brandon with the makeup of an old man? And even talk about the future and the past.

@icelbi: and that was Jason Priestley in the makeup of an old man))) His eyes gave out a lot, they couldn't be aged artificially.
I also didn't understand why this move was made.

@icelbi: Oh, I didn't find out at all, even suspicion didn't creep in until I read the comment Oh, I think this is his kind of directorial move, because their line with Kelly in this series is so mystical, like talking to themselves from the past, the future, a touch of fatalism, kindred spirits and all that...He probably thought it was an appropriate and funny accent) Now I can't wait to check, last time Brandon also bought a ring from himself and tried to give it to himself ...?)) I can't even remember the first attempt to return the ring)

@nens8_8y: It's not Jason, I looked at the credits, there's an actor with a different name and he speaks with a European accent. I don't know where this information comes from, that it's Jason in makeup, he doesn't even look like it.

@Miss_Foxy: somehow you were looking for it quite inattentively. Look at IMDb there in the 7x20 series it is indicated that Priestley plays 2 roles. Brandon Walsh/Jeweler and in the section "did you know?" marking:
Jason Priestley plays a dual role as the older jewelry store owner Mr. Freudenberg who remembers him buying the engagement ring for Kelly. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0523001/?ref_=ttep_ep20
And if you look closely, you can clearly see that the makeup is

@day_dreamer: Oh my God, it's true! Really inattentive, it was a hundred years ago when I was watching, so I got it mixed up... well, then I don't even know, I thought, as a huge fan of Jason's acting, it's just impossible to surprise, but then the shock turns out to be as much as possible)) Thank you for the tip on the info. By the way, he also filmed this episode, but I knew that. Damn, it seems that I began to adore him even more ...)

Val -- well, wow! On the one hand, yes, it's immediately clearer why she moved to Beverly Hills with such an attitude, hating everyone, a difficult teenager and all that. On the other hand, I also remember that it was said many times about how Valerie loves her father, how she was worried that she did not save him. With the same Dylan, they agreed on the topic of losing their father. And not at all on the topic: yeah, my father is such a jerk, I hate him, but still I love him. She never said a bad word about her father, but then she just hopped and "I'm glad he's dead." The inconsistency. And one more thing: she says that her father raped her from the age of 11. She appeared in the series in season 5, almost immediately after her father's suicide. She's supposed to be 21 years old. And from her conversation with her mother and Tom, it seemed as if she almost immediately turned to Tom for help and threatened her father with
Of course, I feel sorry for her to hell, to go through this ((((( And even the mother, there is nowhere more inadequate. To tell your daughter that she's lying, to hit her, to say such things...I can't imagine, what an idiot.
I am pleasantly surprised by how David has learned from his mistakes. This Chloe is so brazen and disgusting! I hope David will just kick her out now and not work with her. But Donna is doing some kind of bullshit. At the same time, all her friends support her, no one can say to her face that you are acting like an idiot and a bitch. I mean, are you in a relationship and going on dates and kissing someone else? Ooh Or is cheating just sex, and everything else is possible indiscriminately? Why is this attitude towards David, despite the fact that he did everything for her? There was no more pathetic explanation than the comparison with Kelly. Back then, I thought it was some kind of game, and they were using it for the second time. And noooooo, I don't like Donna's new hair color, Donna is blonde((
Steve and his brother are so cute, I liked their conversation)) Awkward, but correct...Steve also learned something good from Claire)
Tracy is very, very sorry...She's such a good, poor girl (((

@nens8_8y: Tracy is very sorry (Brandon gave her a bracelet with such a face, without a soul in general.

I don't like Donna's new haircut either. It's too dark and kind of stupid)

This moment with Vel was predictable, at least for me.
I immediately realized that dad clearly did not commit suicide

And Donna is talking such nonsense. Is she mad at David for not being around? Seriously? Maybe he should follow her 24 hours a day 😜
