p. s. the marketing company of the film is amazing, it was hard to get tickets on the day of the premiere, if not redeemed in 2-3 days
I want to note that Ryan Gosling played his role amazingly.
John Cena top. And I would buy a depressed Barbie. Will there be merch for the film? If yes, then I'm waiting for a Barbie with OCD, I'll buy it. And a sweatshirt with I am Kenought.
What's the big deal about Snyder's League? She's better than the Woden League.
I'm going to get drunk because I watched the screen on a laptop, and not in a movie on a big screen, I enjoyed dancing
And I had a Barbie who had a fabric removable mermaid tail. Then the plastic around her chest cracked. I rewrote her hair... I also have a red-haired Barbie Boundless movements, but she is still in clothes from the store and did not go through the Afghan war. I wanted to share.
I really liked it it seems to have become the most favorite
Raising serious topics is the best fit perfectly into the film
From the scenery to the script, I'm thrilled
I highly recommend it!!!
We all have common problems and if we do not fight with each other, do not quarrel over trifles and do not let ourselves be pushed around, we will be able to overcome everything 💘
Yes, there were a couple of deep moments in the film, but most of them did not even lie on the surface. So the film is clearly not for children. Although the ending is generally understandable (for an adult). A strange pitch, but still... Barbie chose the world of people and, turning into a real woman, went to the gynecologist. Which in principle is quite logical for the human world 😅✨
And I would note another interesting detail from the film. Recently I started confusing actresses Margot Robbie and Emma McKay. But the brain finally broke down when the creators of this film gathered these two very similar actresses in appearance on the same site 😋 Is it not exactly banter?! I've heard that many people confuse them with each other.
Otherwise, I liked the movie.
Well, the main critic of the image of Barbie was a 14-year-old teenager in black - yes, damn, at this age, put any crap in front of her, she will shit it :D and this criticism did not last long. In the Barbie story, I was more interested in Ken's branch. Because Barbie is still served as perfectly as possible here, even though she pretends to be "imperfect".
The cast is wonderful. Even Gosling coped with the role perfectly - infuriated the whole movie.
Otherwise... everything has already been expressed here.
Dolls represent women and how they should be for a male society – ideal, but there are no ideal people.
Margot Robie is one of my favorite actresses, I never stop admiring her, another beautifully played role.
I'm absolutely thrilled!
I don't want to write a huge review on "Barbie", so:
"Barbie" is a great philosophical film to think about and laugh about.
I think that this tape will appeal to everyone, starting from collectors of Barbie dolls and those who rummage in the Barbie universe (like me, for example) and ending with those people who do not know anything about it at all.
Margot Robbie is the perfect Barbie, Ryan Gosling is a goofy but gorgeous and perfect Ken. Their tandem is gorgeous, every time they were together, it was very nice to see them.
I was also very pleased to see John Cena, Dua Lipa and Kate McKinnon. They're gorgeous.
The jokes in Barbie are funny, and in the finale I burst into tears.
The plot is excellent, interesting, easy and, as I wrote above, philosophical.
I haven't watched Oppenheimer yet, but I already think that Barbie is a more serious movie compared to it!
The soundtrack of "Barbie" is wonderful, I listen to it every day now.
In general, I did not notice the disadvantages of "Barbie", but I noticed some advantages.
As a result, "Barbie" is an ideal, wonderful film to laugh, grieve and think about.
I bet the tape is 10 out of 10 and if you have it in cinemas, then run and watch it!
IT'S WORTH WATCHING ON THE BIG SCREEN!!!
There were moments when you look and realize that the real world is being shown and this world is ruled by some men, but the good news is that this is changing for the better and women have progressed very well over the years and I am sure that they will continue to move forward and change a lot and bring joy and love. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
But I did not like at all that in the film about feminism there are again poor unhappy men who did shit simply because they did not know their true selves or from unhappy love, so let's take pity on them and sympathize with Gosling's character and build a major PR company on his cute image. And now the idea that patriarchy harms men too is going in a strange direction. And it looks like the doll women are to blame for everything again, they didn't pay enough attention to the ken, that's why they became so bad, but they would have been good. Well, it's a stretch to write off the far-fetched scenario idea that educated and self-sufficient female dolls confused everything from the collision of worlds and allowed themselves to be brainwashed with ideas of patriarchy, usually education and horizons still prevent this, so again the message is ambiguous.
And an epic ending - well, they're serious, according to the film, her character's relationship did not attract even on a pink fantasy level in the form of romance and kisses in the barbie world, but of course, it is the vagina that defines the humanity of a woman. It would be much more interesting for me to find out how she found herself in the real world, like a typical barbie with no special abilities, or what feelings were brought to her. But no, the vagina is still the only thing that can be interesting in a woman🤷♀
Of course, I understand that this was all intended as banter, but the vector of jokes, imho, is wrong
In general, the film is gorgeous, but the ending said the impression
And here's the plot.. Satire is too direct and presented very literally, I expected to see a more subtle irony, but in the end it turned out to be ironic that all the problems are presented in the same plastic way as what they are trying to ridicule.
Barbie is in itself a symbol of "frames for women", no matter how they shove barbie scientists, barbie astronauts and even barbie with disabilities, they will still be perfect, with smooth hair and a good figure. On the other hand, it's just a toy that girls grow out of anyway and go their own way, so you can't blame Barbie for all the sins of the system, especially since toys are always more perfect than this world, the child learns reality anyway.
It is presented here as if "wow, stupid men did it all," but in many cases, women themselves create frames for other women and themselves, so that "everything is not so unambiguous" and not as stupid as it is presented in the film... Well, the way out of the situation is simply to tell the zombie dolls about real life and infringements, and then play seductresses to set men against each other, quietly seizing the white house. - What is this all about? what is such a way out of the situation? What conclusion should I draw from this? That women can only beat men with antics and pretending to be pretty silly? What is the moral and greatness of such a victory?
Capitalism, by the way, is exaggerated to such a sugar level that it is ridiculous, not post-ironic. Like, no, these capitalists are not evil, they're just silly, you don't have to be angry with them.
The favorite character of the film is Alan. I want a separate story about Alan :D
It's a FAN FACT that this is not mentioned in any way in the film, even in passing, although it could also be ironic about it. But of course, the problems of society are not so dangerous to ridicule as their own flaws from the past of the Matel company :D
But if you take them all on faith, then you can have a good 2 hours. It's funny in places and there are a lot of references to pop culture.
Well, let me remind you for those who forgot or for those who did not read my last review of "Barbie" that in July of this year I watched it in a soapy, but normal screen.
After watching it, I was delighted and decided that I had to go to the cinema to see her and watch this movie again.
And finally, today (September 9), the unofficial "Barbie" show officially began, and just today I went to it!
Even the price of 500 rubles did not stop me, because when I watched the screen, I understood that it was better to see such a movie on the big screen!
In short, my opinion has not changed!
"Barbie" is still a great philosophical film to think about and laugh about.
I think we can finish this, because I don't want to write the same thing as in July!
I will add that I am also delighted with this film and I give it 10 out of 10 again and again I want to recommend it for viewing, especially in the cinema!
Because if you compare watching in the cinema and on screens, then these are completely different things and in the cinema I got even more emotions and delight from this film!
PS: Well, now Oppenheimer is waiting for me, but I do not know when I will go to it, huh.
But seriously, the film leaves more questions than answers. What lesson did Barbie learn from her journey? The creators strongly hinted that "if she is a doll, then what lesson can she learn"? As if no one had ever watched Toy Story.
Is it okay to be sad and imperfect? But not in my home world. Is it worth listening to others? No, let's get off the beach.
But Barbie could become a Barbie psychotherapist and help other Barbies to realize and work out their emotions, rather than suppress them in dancing and sunbathing (the main thing is to stay away from green-haired Ken).
at least for the fact that it was through her mouth that the very speech was uttered, in which almost every phrase struck a chord. to tears!
On the one hand, this is feminism in a clear eye! They say that Ken only dreams of becoming a macho man in order to humiliate Barbie. On the other hand — Ken in normal reality, Barbie is hanging out somewhere at the lower levels of the hierarchy. And Barbie is fine with that. And then, all of a sudden, it turns out that Barbie likes the reality that the Kens have built — parties where they can serve the Kens. But for some reason, other, more correct Barbies say - hey, you've been brainwashed. And they begin to commit illegal acts — kidnapping and "backwashing". The only question here is — who said that they wash correctly? And then they generally deprive the Kens of the opportunity to express their opinion. That's not how democracy works, as I see it.
In short, it turned out to be such an anti-feminist film. And here the questions arise — are the authors serious or did they accidentally do all this?
Margosha is just a beauty, as always
While the film is on the HYPE, you need to admire and write that the film is deeper. Although th there is deep, everything is on the surface. The depth was grinding...
*The word "actresses" just exists
Someone: LET'S COME UP WITH NEW FEMINITIVES!!1!
P.S. I liked the dance song "Dance the night", it energizes. I'll put it on her 4+++/5 . And the film - 3+++/5 .
The visual of the films is beyond praise, especially in Barbiland, all these decorations - I'm crazy!
And the scene of the phone call - I hope the person who came up with it was given a big bonus and told that he/she was doing well!
But when the characters tell us in plain text what the film is about, it only causes longing..
And what an attempt to whitewash Ken.. Barbie is to blame for Ken's patriarchy - that's what we'll write down.
Gerwig's little women, in my opinion, turned out much better!
p.s. the blonde in the house of the strange Barbie (the strange goddess), who helped the writer Barbie remember that she was a writer, reminded me of Robin Sparkles from the clip let's go to the mall....
Ryan Gosling 10/10
Margot Robbie 10/10
Patriarchate 100000/10
for me, this film is about life. that is, about her periods, which someone changes, and someone does not. What do I mean by that? Barbie lives in her own Barbyland — this is a direct reference to the fact that everyone lives in their own "world" of perception. Ken is running after her there, trying to draw her attention to herself, she has her "perfect life", everything goes on as usual and she takes it all for granted. until then..
as long as she doesn't think about it. after all, every person sooner or later is visited by such thoughts. and then the amazing begins! a person begins to think about the meaning of life, analyze his existence, his habits.
to find the answer, she is sent to the "real world" — this can be compared to the effect of therapy, when the layers of your distorted perception of reality are removed and you finally begin to notice life around. the scene was very revealing when Barbie was sitting alone at the bus stop and voices were heard around her, the noise of the city. she finally noticed it. she noticed that life is going on, life is happening right now. and in life there is not only her little world, but a whole huge world. children are playing somewhere, someone is figuring things out, someone is kissing and so on. and there is a grandmother sitting next to her at the bus stop, who, obviously, is leaving life at least because she has already lived most of her life. and it touches Barbie. it was such an intimate moment in the film when Barbie realized the presence of other people and time, the very concept of life.
she realizes that she does not particularly like the "big" world, decides to return to her own. she even takes her girlfriends with her. but what was her disappointment that after coming into contact with the "big" world, everything in her little world ceased to be the same. she begins to restore "order" at home, and realizes that it will not work out to live as before.
guys in suits (representatives of mattel) are the powerful of this world, a kind of trendsetters, people who set the rules. they came once again to set their own rules, but then the creator of Barbie, Ruth, appears. she is the personification of the universe, whether you want to call it God or the universe. and that's where the climax happens.
next we see the key scene of the film, it begins in Barbiland.
Ruth says that no one can be a Barbie, except for Barbie herself — this is about the fact that each of us is individual and beautiful already by this fact. Barbie says she doesn't feel like a Barbie anymore because her stereotypes about life have been shattered. she has changed a lot, she cannot live as before, but she does not know how to live in a new way.
next, Ruth takes Barbie to some strange white room where there is no time, no people, where only she and Barbie and in a dialogue explains to her the "meaning" of life.
Barbie says that she is a "stereotypical" Barbie and she does not know how to do anything in life — so say many people who are faced with a reassessment of values. Ruth tells her: "but you helped the mother and daughter to establish a relationship." to which Barbie evasively replies, "they did it themselves," without taking into account their contribution to it. she doesn't consider herself a Barbie anymore.
next, Ruth's most beautiful monologue: "do you understand that people have one end? ideas live forever, man does not. being human can be uncomfortable. patriarchy and Barbie come up with wallpapers to figure out how uncomfortable it is, and then you die @eat"
Barbie says that she wants to become a part of the human community, tk sees the point in this. she no longer wants to be just an idea, she wants to become a creator (I would say, first of all, the creator of her reality), ignoring trendsetters and authorities from the outside, choosing her own path.
the creator rejoices at this decision of Barbie, stating that she always knew that Barbie would surprise her, but did not expect this. Barbie asks Ruth for permission to become a human, she replies that she does not need her permission. Barbie is surprised, asking again that Ruth is her creator, does she not control her? (here is a reference to religiosity). Ruth says that she controls her no more than her daughter (a reference to the unconditional love of the creator). and she's here to watch people look back to see how far they've come.
Barbie asks: "Really, in order to become a person, I don't need to ask for it or even want it? do you just need to discover it in yourself?". after that, Ruth says that she can't let go of Barbie without realizing that she realized everything. she offers to take her hands, close her eyes and feel. and here the moment of truth happens.
while we run and look around, we lose ourselves, and in order to remember who you really are, you need to stop, close your eyes, and hear the beating of your own heart. think about it, the world is alive as long as we are alive. the world is not what is happening around, the world is what is happening inside. each of us is the world.
all this is completed by the beautiful composition of Billy Ailish "What I was made for" — this is the very question that hangs over the viewer for a whole movie and together with Barbie we are trying to figure it out.
I don’t know how to feel, but someday I might
https://youtu.be/Q3xO_HwojUc?si=AxftdFbG5JUyXhKK
After this scene, Barbie returns to her world with a completely new understanding of herself. she makes it clear to Ken that he is not an addition to her, he is unique, independent, because he is a person, thereby turning his consciousness.
But for once
What's the matter? Yes, the fact is that if the agenda is written organically into the picture, and even by clearly talented people, then you can close your eyes to some excesses on the ground. Well, you know: like the first seasons of American Horror Story or the Green Book.
In form and content, I would say "Barbie" resembles most of all, oddly enough, animated "Lego. The film " (with a slight admixture of "Elf" Jon Favreau, "Pixar's Toy Story " and Wes Anderson's style). The same level of meta humor, references, and the plot echoes, starting with an almost similar opening song about "what a wonderful day, what a wonderful stump, what a wonderful me and my song ... ", continuing with the theme of growing up and ending with Will Ferrell.
Despite, I repeat, some excesses with the agenda, many jokes about this very agenda howled out loud (yes, in general, the film is really funny without that), which was mainly facilitated by Ken performed by Ryan Gosling. No, do not think that Margot Robbie undeservedly received her percentage of the up to billions of world collections of the picture, but Gosling is the heart and soul of Barbie. How good he is here! It's a pity that Mister so rarely performs in the humorous genre (only The Nice Guys, the ones who are The Nice Guys with Russell Crowe, and not Scorsese's Goodfellas, come to mind at once), and more and more often sadly dies in the finale. Seriously: Gosling was kissed by God, here he showed the widest range of comedic data. Antics, glances, sighs, grins, ridiculous movements - everything is perfectly simple in the presentation of the character. And Ken's reaction when he found out about the patriarchy is simply priceless. I'm not even talking about the song and dance number during the climax. I seriously said after watching the movie: Gosling should get an Oscar. And it's not because the award has broken through all possible bottoms and I'm so snide. No, Gosling has done some tremendous work. In my opinion, the film, in principle, would not have developed without him. A very bright performance. Perhaps the best in the actor's filmography, and this despite the fact that everything was fine there before that. If I'm going to review "Barbie", it's for the sake of some nuances of Gosling's game that I didn't notice at the first viewing.
Of the actors, you can also mention Michael Sera in the role of the useless doll Allan (however, Sera did not give anything new here, but he still acted funny), Will Ferrell (who is indecently reminiscent of Biden with his stupid remarks and actions. And Ferrell 's face clearly copies the current one
POTUS'a. However, perhaps it all seemed to me... But, I think not) and Kate McKinnon in the role of a strange Barbie (grimacing as usual [read: like in "Ghostbusters "], but the character is funny).
In short, for sure feminists, representatives of all lgbtqiarioplus, enlightened Western leftists-liberal Democrats and other lovers of feminitives on "-ka " will find in the film thousands of topics for dissertations about why "all men are bastards " (by the way, note: in the film, it was the women who unleashed the conflict between the bros under speeches about democracy and freedom. Gee-gee-gee), but in this particular case, you can close your eyes to it all thanks to funny jokes (both in text and in audiovisual terms), excellent stylistics, good general acting and a great benefit by Ryan Gosling. Probably, this is how propaganda works)))
P.S. The cover of Aqua came out so-so (I'm surprised, in general, that the song was used at all, given the scandals around it when it first appeared), but Dua Lipa performed nothing like that.
Rating: 7 life in plastic its fantastic out of 10
Everyone who plays female characters is smart, adequate and realistic, if we are not talking about dolls, but real people. Everyone who plays men, plays them inanimate (unrealistic) and necessarily stupid.
And absolutely the rating is not 13 + because in the movie the genitals are called out loud. Literally, the woman said that she would be happy to see what a bulge in the pants of that man. And unrealistic men approached barbie on the street, who openly offered her to take off her swimsuit, in response to which she said that she did not have a vagina, and the guy next to her did not have a penis.
It's all propaganda that stupid men rule the world, and smart women are limited in this world. And, of course, all men look at women only as an object.
and the Aqua - Barbie Girl were not forgotten in the credits. still a hit of the 90s.
They wanted to call Gal Gadot. but it didn't work out. I hope in the sequel it will be like chapters. the antagonist of barbie. and there will definitely be a sequel - fees are almost 1.5 billion!
here Emma Maki was called because of the hype for her similarity to Margot. but they didn't paint it blonde. the stereotypical Barbie should be alone.
and Will Ferrell has already played in the hit about the iconic Lego toy. where he played a businessman collector of lego. maybe he became president of mattel. Lego and barbie in the same world!
the film is deeper deeper. this word formation is already annoying. here is an analysis of the movie Pseudo-Feminism in Barbie | ANOIR. and he probably did a fisting of the movie😏. "it's not feminism, it's capitalism."
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0M7MOk67yC4
"That's what Zarathustra Barbie said"😁
There are problems with the script in the film, it feels very strongly in the characters, except Ken: I don't believe anyone, Gosling and his whole thread of drama is beautiful when he gets into the real world, all the jokes with his erroneous view of reality are funny. He considers the world patriarchal and gets a dose of comical jokes for this, but when Barbie is also wrong, she generally does not feel anything, for example, she approaches the builders, and is indignant - where are the women, they seem to hint to us that there is patriarchy in the real world, but go to any college, and you are there more 10% of girls will not really see, physical labor is something that does not suit women, not society, it is a personal choice, but Barbie makes a mistake and there is no joke anymore. Also, the arrival of dolls into the world is shown as a society that looks at the beautiful Margot as concerned and this is also far from reality.
In general, everything that will be connected with the desire to push your TRUTH will be made worse, the desire to make it funny towards the Ken. Another cool joke, towards corporate owners who are useless and can only parasitize on someone else's, and in any action they behave like slowpokes, but Barbie, wanting to return to the world of dreams, changes her mind not because of the speech of the girl with whom she may have been playing, but because of the fact that in the company women don't work. And then the problems of the script collide, why Barbie soars what happens in another world if she was already going to her own, but okay, she still gets into a world where Ken has already become the main one and with the help of lies and manipulation, like real dictators: women vote onlyand after machinations - and return the matriarchy again.
Also, questions to two women people, Gloria (Mother) and Sasha (Daughter), they are just plain stupid, they speak in slogans, and Gloria is completely in the language of the authors of the picture, it's something like this: "we ask a hail of questions, we pick up sores and then we pour salt, and then we I'm not particularly interested in the sequel. And as a result, their storyline, oh, is not needed at all.
At the same time, like a musical and everything related to the technical component: worthy, with a spark and love for the world of barbie. The outfits are made from the heart, Sin was called - well done, but for 30 seconds, kamon. Ryan Gosling is the basis of the whole film, he worked out for the nomination, although I understand that everyone will be nominated here, but Gosling is the only one who posted and did not impose.
You can still scold and praise the film for a lot of things, but in general, I probably described my attitude to this creation enough. I would rather hear from the authors a recipe for an honest relationship between a woman and a man in relationships, friendship, society and work.
Visual: 11/15
Atmosphere: 10/15
Soundtrack: 8/10
Main characters: 14/20
Minor characters: 7/10
Plot: 18/30
Total Score: 68 (3/5 Gray Area).
1. Barbie was invented for girls so that they would stop playing mother-daughter and printing children, finally get a useful profession and become full-fledged, sorry, members of society.
2. The younger generation of non-binary snowflakes considers Barbie a fascist and a totalitarian weapon to kill their identity. She teaches them how to work and sometimes comb their hair, which is terrible. And they haven't pushed anything about ecology yet.
3. But Ken is even worse. This blond bumpkin is trying to make Barbiland great again, get everyone to get on a horse, and all the women.... I'm sorry, Barbey is enslaved in the form of ass-eating handmaidens and boobby minions bringing him beer.
4. Therefore, it is necessary to quarrel with all the Kens so that they kill each other, and while they are doing this, so that the Kens do not have time to vote, organize a fair election of Kamala Harris's presidency under the guise. After that, everything in the country will turn pink.
5. In the last frame, Barbie returns to the real world, trying to figure out the literal meaning of the word fucked up.
Thank you for your attention, I can't estimate the percentage of satire.
Well, separately I would like to mention the extraterrestrial beauty of Margot Robbie😍
In general, the film is good in idea, idea and visually, but as if something was missing. The topic of feminism has not been fully disclosed, in my opinion. It didn't touch me much.
Voistinu %)
I liked the movie! Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling paired up - 🔥!!!! The soundtrack is gorgeous by the way!
In fact, it is very deep and touches on very vital topics, so to speak.
Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling played their roles perfectly.
In general, a cool movie, I came in)
I don't understand why there was such negativity around this film …
It was shot cool, what else can you expect from a movie called "Barbie"?! But even for such a name, there are moments to make sense of some things in life
Barbie flashes in communication "Justice League", also "The Godfather"
The fight of the Kens is, in my opinion, the funniest thing, they danced each other like that 😅
I've already broken my head, please help me.
There is a top 2023 audience award, but besides that you need to watch 9 more films.
